Anyone shoot the demon ,thinking of getting rid of triax just looking at other companies other than matthews

I'm getting either a Bowtech Revolt or Bowtech Solution SS this year. Have you checked those out? I had a Darton back in the day, used to be very popular.

No I really like it ,there is just no Matthew's shops around me ,I have a really large archery wholesale distributor by me but they dont work on matthews, I've had my bow out probably 60+ times this year and the same last year and pulling up and dropping and climbing with your bow bouncing and balancing works on the cams ,its just a maintenance deal that has me wanting to swap

I'm pretty sure darton gets royalties on every bow made that uses the cam system ,that's why they dont market like all the others

Yeah, I heard that. I had one of their hybrid cams when it first cam out (wasn't called that). I don't think the invented binary cams though (bowtech?). I'm sure Hoyt has cut Darton many checks for sitting back and relaxing.

I have the spectra-E and really like it. 28" at 60# with 445 gr arrow i'm shooting at 270 fps. I really like the smoothness of the pull. Bow shoots great. I also have a Vertix i shoot. The darton is smoother to the backwall to me. It dont have the jerk feeling as it breaks over. Vertix is at 28", 65# same arrow and is 5 fps faster. Vertix is just a tad more dead in the hand to me. I used the Vertix this year more only because i like the HHA sight on it. But the darton is overall a better felling bow. JMO

I have a Spectra E as well. Have used it for two season now. It is faster than my Chill R, which is a great bow that I like a lot too but my point in mentioning this is that the Darton build quality is that of Matthews/Hoyt/Bowtech/PSE etc. All of the risers have a super durable quiet coating on them too so if you happen to bang your arrow against it, the riser itself has some dampening qualities to it. The Spectra E is very smooth drawing, and is one of the easiest bows to shoot well imho. It has little to no hand shock which is completely taken away with a stabilizer. The bow points for me extremely well I just can't say enough about it. Rex Darlington is/was the president of Darton and is a highly skilled engineer and will stay on the Darton team in the near term according to my research.
As posted on this site and many others, his cam designs and patents are used by several other very big brand companies. The Spectra E is for the E series which has the equalizer yoke system on both cams to help eliminate cam lean and aide in micro tuning. The cams also have timing marks and as long as your cables are lined up in the marks on both cams, you know your bow is still tuned. The yoke is different from other yokes as it doesn't just hook to both sides of the axels. Each cable is hooked to a roller which has a yoke attached to both ends of each axle but then loops around to a small cam on the side of the main cam itself. Tension is "equalized" throughout the end of each limb which takes pressure of the axles and because the yoke is hooked to the roller, the roller will help eliminate and equalize that tension on both ends of the bow overall in addition to helping eliminate cam lean. I snapped a picture to show you what I attempted to describe. The videos links I attached also describe the E system on a couple of their high end target compounds.
Darton also makes the Maverick II and the Lightening XT. These bows are a little faster than the Spectra E but they do not have the E tuning system. This e tuning system has been on their target bows for a few years now too. There is a recent interview and review of the target Darton's by Lancaster Archery Supply which I am pleased to hear are now going to carry Darton. These YT videos provide some great info. on the new ownership, some history of Darton, and some information on the future of this great company.
The Demon is a great bow too from my understanding and has a bit of lesser price tag and I know of guys that really like the Demon. They will be changing the name of it to the Cyclone however. The company is now owned by the owners of Black Eagle Arrows and Conquest Archery. I like the new owner/president and think he will bring Darton into the 21 century in terms of marketing and outreach. Darton's technology is already 21st century and ahead of the curve. Their PR and marketing however have not been. I think you will be happy with either bow.
I have no affiliation whatsoever I just like Darton Archery, always wanted one and picked one up in 2018 and just want others to know that they have some other high quality and high performance options out there besides Matthews and Hoyt. Which are awesome bow companies too.
Finally, they have a nice bow at a great price point that I believe would be a great bow. Its called the 3500A and it has the tried and true 3800 Riser with the new cams that are on the Spectra E, Maverick II and Lighting. I believe these are similar if not the same as the new LW Lobo Bow just without the specialized LW accoutrements.
