Day One Camo 35% Off Sale

SH might have struck again! :tearsofjoy:

Thanks for the link and info!

The cowboy suede still says it blocks wind, water and burrs. On sale for $126 They might fit the bill for me,if they're water/wind resistant, but it's true regular piece is crazy and there are waayyy less options.

Thank you for pointing this out @Maverick1

So the stuff on sale doesn't have those features?
If you listen to the movie with the original owner on the homepage it goes ove all the current features very well I think. The pricing was already more if you added insulative layers or even scent lock to the clothes already so no real change there that I can see. You always had the option to start out with no windbreaker lining or no carbon lining but at additional costs. I do agree that the pricing seemed high but with the 35% discount, in my mind the parity is now there on these garments. I will be wearing layers underneath anyway which I prefer that method than a lot of bulk in the actual garment itself. I will see for sure though when I receive them. A lot of features are outlined in the movie that tipped the scales in my mind for a durable garment in awesome open camo patterns especially for bowhunting.

I work down the street from the shop. They have always have had good clothing. A buddy of mine got a vest for a high school graduation gift. 20 years later that thing is still amazing. I also have a few extremely tall friends that get all their camo there. You can walk in anytime and see the clothes being made right there.

Can you confirm/retort any of what @Maverick1 is saying about the shift in manufacturing/intent with the new ownership? Or does everything seem similar/the same from your perspective?

I haven’t been in there for a while. It’s not much of a shop. A little office/shop and then a sew shop. It’s more of a place you go when you have an idea of what you want. I could stop by sometime next time next week.

You might want to double check the address before you head over there......

The shop WAS in Englewood CO. WAS there for the 20 years I have lived here. It shareD a parking lot with Bear Creek Archery.

There, fixed it for you. @Camelcluch - you may have to walk a bit further across town to find the shop...... (They moved to a new location.)

Day One is still offering garments in fleece and cowboy suede (100% polyester, warp knit, low nap material). Three different camo patterns. As mentioned earlier - they are no longer offering many of the product features that made them great before: wind stopper, insulation, customizable pockets, bibs, etc. - only unlined, uninsulated shells now. (Some may find the current offerings more than capable of meeting their needs, and that's great. If one is like @woodsdog2 - and they plan to layer underneath the Day One garments, that should work out really well for them. I'm just highlighting that things have changed, and many of the features that earned them a great reputation before are no longer available.)

@woodsdog2 - any update, have you received your items yet?

I have and they seem of high quality. The pockets are still adjustable. The sleeves still have the closers and the build appears to be quite durable and functional. I can’t wait to try them out this fall. They do have a flannel like lining throughout but there is no insulation. I’ll snap a few pics in a few days for you guys. I see them as a great mid to mid rut with a layer underneath garment and a thin hoody underneath for mid to late rut. They are not baggy but they are not form fitting either. It’s seems like a good mix. A day one vest over and you’re probably good to go for a range of most of the season.

finally remembered to snap a few pics of the Day One Camo I recently picked up. With some good base layers and a vest I think they will work well as a great mid season outfit.IMG_2955.jpeg

I only bought the pants, I like them a lot. Fit good, with or without base layers. Seem to be pretty water proof or resistant, I've sat on dew covered and or wet grass /wood/ debris and haven't got a wet butt yet. Wore them through a swamp and got them wet up to almost my knees, no noticeable wicking up the legs so that's awesome

@woodsdog2 Is the material quiet? Can't tell that from the pics lol.
Yes it’s very quiet it’s that low knap performance fleece they used to call it Storm Kloth or Silent Suede honestly it feels like wool almost but not scratchy. Both garments are lined on the inside too but not insulated.
