I've often mentioned in my seminars bucks and rabbits share the same habits. Today was the first day out scouting my secret buck spot since my heart attack last October 20th while hunting my main buck freight-Train. Something told me to head in to this deep March the way I use to go the first year i hunted this area. About a half mile in I reached a small clearing which I'm very familiar with. The scrub and underbrush had changed a little so I stood to get my bearings on my Huntstand App...then all of a sudden a large velvet racked buck stood up 20 yrds in front of me but I couldn't get a picture off in time..Im so blessed first day in the woods and God serves up a great buck for me to see. I walked over to his bed and it was huge in size like he lives there. Marked its location then went on and did a pre-set very near another bedding spot I've hunted for three Years. Two hour's later I decided to go back to where I jumped that buck and scout the area and low-and-behold he jump up again running for the apache hills. You might ask - What's the chances of bumping the same buck on the same day...great odds - you see just like a rabbit he ran in a circle and came back to the place he feels the most secure and comfortable. Again summer beds and fall beds are two very different animals...I could talk about bedding areas for hours. Anyway thought I would share a positive moment 90 days before opener
