Deer carts

Went to Missouri a couple of weeks ago with some buddies and one of them brought his Hawk Crawler cart. Man that thing is awesome. I have a 2 wheel cart with lawn mower tires, I have used a sled, and I have a Deer Sleigh'r drag. This Hawk cart is the best I have ever used. We hauled big bodied midwest deer out over 1.5 miles back and it wasn't that bad.

I actually did look at those hawk carts online, they look pretty sweet but I think they were something like 50lbs, guess it doesn't matter alot but hoping for something lighter

@Buckkillr - X2 on the Academy Game Cart that @Weldabeast recommended above and in earlier threads. I purchased one this summer and it's not nearly as heavy (nor as expensive) as the Hawk crawler.

I know a man that plays Golf and likes to walk the course for exercise but he has an electric bag cart that hauls his bag for him. Sticks his little radio part in his pocket, the thing follows him around like a puppy. Imagine one of those as a deer cart.......anybody want to start a business with me? lol

I've seen those on vacation in Florida, one of those on traxx....Genius!

Jet sled with custom handles FTW...

Drill custom holes. Cut rope to length. Add flexible hose to rope. Feed rope thru sled holes. Add large washers for more surface area. Tie double stopper knots.

One person can use 2 front handles to pull with both arms. Two people can use 1 front and 1 side handle each to pull with both arms. Or four people can each pull 1 handle.

I've loaded the sled as full as I could get it with wet dirt and pulled it around with the lawn mower....just the factory stopper knots are way strong....it was heavy and it took it like a champ

The sleds are awesome in variety of terrain

Also usually no blood to clean out of truck bed

Just rinse sled out

Put mine to use a couple times recently

Though I really wanted to buy the hawk double wheel, the cost and especially weight pushed me away.
I like the sled ideal but the bulk I don't, however I do think I'm going to buy one of those roll out sleds just to try, pretty cheap.

I ended up buying a guide series cart, might regret it cause guide series brand is not the best but it's steel and I can weld and I might use it twice a year. I figured straight away I would cut some plastic to cover inner and outer spokes to keep sticks out.

I bought it new off eBay for $50 so no-matter I won't be out much if it's a POS

Ive used this same cart for the last 9 seasons on public in Illinois and Missouri. It has hauled out a lot of big deer over the years. Welded up a handle extension the year we got it. I’ve also been on deer retrieves that involved a sled and hawk crawler. They all have their benefits but for my money I’m gonna stick with ol trusty.

I used a sled quite a bit especially in crop fields and marshy areas where a carts wheels bury and I really like that it contains the blood and doesn't let it run all over the back of my truck. I also for longer or less marshy areas use a Rambo bike cart. I don't own the bike but the cart is light weight and has handled several deer for me now without issue.

What Xtra handle did you add? Picture? I might as well get to it

I was gifted a fairly large gorilla cart and I’ve hauled plenty of weight on it while duck hunting. Yes it’s big and bulky but I’ll say this it makes it A LOT easier to haul heavier stuff out especially on boggy ground where the 2 wheeled carts have narrow tires and sink bad my wagon doesn’t. I’m a taller guy and found that most cheaper carts weren’t made for taller people my heels would always hit the cart or I had to hunch down when pulling the cart because the break over point was so much lower.

I can get a pic tomorrow but imagine the Greek symbol for Pi. Square tubing welded into that shape. It extends the frame and the wider handle allows for 2 people pulling.
I think I see what your talking about, I've got some steel conduit in garage that would work great to add to it

Versa cart. Maybe the best cart out there. It has angled wheels and load is low, right on top of the axle. Both of these features help to prevent the cart from wanting to roll.

My buddy has one of these a guy built for him just by looking at the pic. He even has it where he can hook it to his mtn bike seat post to pull with the bike. This cart works very well.

I have one of the guide series carts that I hauled around in my boat forever before I finally used it last year. I guess I'm getting old enough now that I don't mind making a trip back to the boat to dump my gear and take the cart back for the animal. It used to bug me to make more than one trip....now I don't mind at all.
