It was a cooooold week of hunting this year.
One of the guys has a macabre sense of humour.

I shot the buck on the run at 40 yards through the heart.

Unfortunately I was in a ladder stand.

Never saw one while in the saddle this year.

One of the guys made a bad shot and wounded a deer. The dog was on it very fast and kept chasing it. It’s a long story and bad one. In involved a headlock and a rock, a shot on the ice, someone breaking through the ice, a wrestling match 1/2 on and 1/2 off the ice, 2 local women screaming “take it off! Take it all off!!” And the poor deer finally succumbing to a knife.....
I can’t say I approved of any of that. You can’t make this stuff up. There was definitely a succession of bad decisions. The one thing they did right was not give up.
