Deer Sh!ts?

its a new protein. Happens to my in-laws every year when they come to visit and get the first venison or wild pork meal I cook. Just a quick gut flush and they’re good to go as we eat wild 75% off the time they’re here. My wife and I have no issues but then again I’ve earned it my entire life and they just recently started.

It has only been the person trying it for the first time. Me, my wife, my kids, all have had it and been fine. But we have had it before.

Also, wouldnt freezing the meat kill the bacteria?
Not necessarily if the bacteria was spore forming or if the meat was temperature abused and toxins formed. But knowing it was just that one person it most probably isn’t an illness. Like others have mentioned could just be intolerance to venison. Better eat it all, it’s better to be safe than sorry(that’s sarcasm btw).

Next time you should check the deers diet to know if it was grass fed or grain fed… some people have issues with one or the other. I always thought it was a joke until I realized it was a joke.

Oh the 'deer butt blues'. My one buddy who doesn't eat venison year round like some of us do gets a little bubbly in the guts but its mostly gas. Just something his body isn't used to eating.

One thing to take into account is that if E coli is subjected to higher temperatures before cooking maybe during the processing and food preparation, it becomes more heat tolerant meaning the final cooked temperature needs to be higher

Thinking just a new food they don't normally eat...Gas, oh yeah, but think it's just because it's so lean ?

I don't eat a lot of crab meat, but get's me every time (Iodine ?)

Correct me if I was told wrong... but after being frozen for 6months, it kills any bacteria/parasites ?
