Last season was my first season hunting with modern saddles, equipment and climbing techniques. Loved it…much, much better than saddle hunting 20+ years ago.

I bought everything I needed last year and told my wife I’d never need anything else. Well…I unintentionally lied to her.

I guess you don’t know what you don’t know. It took a whole season to get a better feeling for what would work best for me.

Last year I bought a Method 3, a Profile XL and a Ranger 22, and climb various JRB methods..lots of rope and hitch cords.

The Method 3 is a comfortable saddle, but really hated the butter bridge. So, I just bought more rope and cord and tied JRB’s 2026 Bridge Design. Infinitely better!

The Profile XL is ok. I like the size, but it’s heavy and squeaks not matter what you do on certain trees. So….I just pre-ordered the Hunt Arsenal Mag 3 and the latest USA Pro platform attachment from The Amsteel Guy.

I really wanted to love the Ranger 22 but it just wasn’t for me. I don’t care for the thick padding. Too many straps and buckles going on for my liking and the thing weighs 4.5lbs empty. Built like a tank though!

I want to only carry the essential so I bought a 5.11 Rush M.O.A.B 8 Sling Pack and I think it’s going to be perfect.

Man I hope this is the ticket, because I have no idea what I am going to tell my wife next year…LOL

Man. If there was a jar for how many of us said. "This is the last thing I will need to buy". It would be over flowing. I know I have added to it a few times.

Nope. I know me. I may say "I've got to lay off trying stuff..." or "I've got to get rid of some of the extra..." but "This is the last" is a lie I won't tell.

I do enjoy trying different things and weighing the pro/con's. There's so many good options a person doesn't need to try many, it's just something I enjoy.

Dang...didn't know Hunt Arsenal was coming out with that. I guess I need to sell my OG Lone Wolf climber and hang on that are nicely equipped to give me an excuse to buy that huge 3.4 lbs platform. They also might have fixed the angle adjust feature, at least it is a normal design now and not a wedge.

I handled it quite a bit at the ATA show. It’s pretty dang sweet.

That thing looks huge for 3.4 lbs. It can be good to have smaller and larger platforms depending upon the hunt that day. If I were to buy that Mag 3, it would be for hunts closer to the truck, when my load is lighter due to short/warmer hunts, or when I'm in a spot where weak side shots are going to be common (might be in a finger tip funnel where deer could be either side with equal odds). The Elite I have would be for my usual hunts where a slimmer profile and one less lbs on my back would be appreciated.

Its only 2" less width than a trophyline mission, but 2 pounds lighter. Its even lighter than the EDP at its size. Thats crazy.

I love my Elite, but I can see a spot for this in my arsenal for sure. All day sits, larger trees, etc. I may jump on the pre-order for this one as well.

It's about the same weight as a standard, small sized Tethrd Predator!

This just underlines for me that cast aluminum is not the way of the future.

It really is impressive and it honestly feels lighter than 3.4lbs. Also, they have rubber bumpers in all the right places making it dead silent to open and close.
