Discouragement and Realistic Expectations

This story never goes away. I have had 8 or 9 in a row go down in site followed by a bit of lunacy but I continue on. A few years back after 3 misses one morning I threw my longbow at an 8 point. The damn bow didn’t even hit the ground but hung in a tree out of my reach. I went home and ordered a SR site from 3rivers. When it came in I taped it on and went to work on my shooting. I learned a lot including that I was fortunate to have ever killed anything. A week later I took a nice 10 pt. Bottom line get control of your emotions. If you don’t have the shot you know you will make let down. Do not let go unless you can pull up the same level of confidence as you do in your own yard. I’ve easily taken 50 deer since my train wreck so it can be worked through. And finally when I hear the comparison to baseball I laugh. Deer will never try and catch the arrow for you.
