DIY “PhantoMantis” or sell my Mantis and buy a Phantom?

Why would anyone not want people that have used a product not post on it. Frankly there seems to be far more folks that can't wait to post snarky comments about a product they have never seen. Seems reasonable that reps should be able to correct misconceptions? I cant see vendor area when on my samsung phone... it shows up as new post.
I understand where that could be a valid application of your experience, but I’ve yet to see that in this thread. I’d like to see involvement from you & @IkemanTX but let’s stay on topic & I’ll happily discuss/clarify via PM as well.

Although perhaps a bit too snarky, I feel my comment is a very accurate description of the limitations that are placed on anyone associated with any person/company who sells hunting related anything.

I said we couldn’t talk tethrd anywhere but the “time out area” meaning vendor area. I don’t think this is exclusively aimed at people associated with tethrd, the rules are equally applied across brands. They have just ended up with us not being able to mention ANY of the gear we personally use anymore, essentially kept us from discussing any competitor’s products as well lest our bias be construed as talking negatively, answer anyone’s questions when someone is seeking assistance.

I am not trying to stir a pot, or be nasty.. I just am genuinely trying to figure out what that leaves me to talk about on this site with such massive no go zones. It’s probably just like a new pair of shoes... the break-in period is tough, there may be blisters, but hopefully saddlehunter ends fitting like a well worn pair of shoes again at some point.

You can post just about anything you want in the vendor section. Just not blasting other companies. The rest of the forum goes along w red’s vision , a place for hunters to go to discuss hunting and saddle hunting. With the growth of vendors red has compromised his vision to meet the wants of everyone.

Back to the original topic. I’ve used both the mantis and phantom. There are things you can’t diy on the mantis to upgrade it to the phantom. Like the lineman loops and overall geometry. I’d gladly pay $100 more for a phantom over a mantis personally having spent time in both.

I would tend to agree with you for the first time buyer, but these particular customers just bought the Mantis and now wish they waited? From what I gather. So the question is Do I mod my mantis to imitate the new features of the phantom. I would agree with @DaveT1963 answer, the features are not the only difference, so you may be better off trying to return it and pay up for the Phantom. I know what i would end up doing in this situation, I would buy both, give them both a fair shot and sell the less desired. I do not like modding my saddles. That's me though.

I saw a mantis on the classified just sale in one day i believe. Also, another option, Tethrd will be doing road shows in a lot of places - maybe try to attend one and you can compare first hand?

If still in the return window it seems like a no brainer. Used mantis prices will dip due to increased availability and lack of demand. Order the phantom. If you don’t like it return or resale and go buy something else.

I'm not sure anymore I though we were allowed to answer questions as long as we were respectful?
This is confusing. Especially when they move the thread to create a violation. :D I am still trying to find the vendor area. This was better when everyone just posted what they thought anywhere. Do I make a left turn to get to the vendor area? :grinning:

I did find the vendor area but the main page has been reconstructed from what I remembered.

it'll work out. I'm here to help the folks that seriously want to learn about saddle hunting. I personally dont gain much outside camradery with a few. Guarantee you I have deposited far more here than I have received. Got to take the good with the bad I suppose. Maybe I'll use a pic of klenexes as my avitar...... JK lol..... or maybe not....

Actually moving the thread was needed because the violation occurred. Once it was moved all of the comments were good to go. The 2 options were 1 Delete the thread or 2 move it to proper location. Personally I feel like the content was valid and moving it was better than deleting it. Once everyone gets used to the cans and cants it should be smoother.

Guys some of the moderators like Jefferson are good guys trying to do the impossible - make 1000s of children play together nicely. I am guilty as anyone. I respect you Jefferson you have dealt with me very professionally and respectfully - I do appreciate that. welcome at my camp fire, if you can take the heat from associating with a whiner, anytime bud.

I guess I don't see why comments and recomedations from any company rep is a problem at all. I'm looking for a new product and this fellow has first hand knowledge of it,, whats the problem? I'm sure he is biased towards Tethyrd but let Aero Hunter Join in w/ opinions of their product also and then let me decide for myself. Seems better than some guy saying he's a newbie and giving his two cents worth on a new product that he's only seen pictures of. Doesnt seem to help me decide which I want..... Just a Thought..

Now that this is in the vendor section, vendor reps can respond to the questions. The stuff that you are reading is from the day it was moved. Ask a question and tag who you would like an answer from, maybe they will respond.
