Diy Camo Hawk Heliums

i see now. This is probably ok since the aider is squeezing the stick, mostly and not pushing out against the thin metal as i was initially worried about. Sorry for the alarm.
No problemo sir! It's good to have multiple sets of eyes watching for safety. Thank you very much!

hey Red, what is that webbing doing in the stick slits? That’s not an aider hanging from there? It seems sketchy to me if it is.
I'm more concerned with the stitch daisy chain webbing what's the webbing meant for?

It's a 900lb hammock strap. Functions exactly the same as a versa strap. Works great. I used it for a bit but ultimately went back to the original cam buckle strap for simplicity sake.

Looks great! Just did mine.

Here’s the hawk helium sticks I painted. I used the method catman on YouTube used to paint his platform. Did my ridge runner platform as well.

Everyone's work looks really good.

I'm glad I ran into the sponge camo painting concept here a while back. It's so foolproof. I've done all my sticks and stands and even a molle shoulder strap set. I must be a bad artist because I find that when I do not try at all but just dab randomly while hardly looking that it turns out better. When I pay too close attention I subconsciously want to make all my dabs too even and then from a distance it becomes all one color without breaks.

So, I'll throw that out there to maybe try on some cardboard. See if not caring at all and just "spray on sponge, dab around quick like you don't care" doesn't give you better the results if you aren't happy with your work at times.

Yeah I think your right, if you just go for it without thinking it will turn out better. I did my platform first and that took maybe 2 hrs total because Im impatient and can sit long enough for it all to dry but I ended up touching it up bc I tried to make it perfect. When I did the sticks that took maybe 2 hours for all three and I just put a base coat on and started dabbing and Im just as happy with how they turned out. Super simple camo method and looks great imo.
