DIY chest rig

My wife and I were discussing this idea last weekend for next year. I want it for a few key items and my rangefinder since I use that for a monocular. Nice work, I will show this to her.

Cool project! For those less able to put one together fully, you can easily DIY modify one of these from @DanO and have something very similar... https://doublesteps.com/product/molle-multi-functional-pouch/
How it is possible to manufacture that complex of a product, sell it to a retailer, and then a retailer sell it for only $12.99 BLOWS MY MIND!

I'd 100% recommend people buy that unless they are like me and just get a lot of satisfaction out of making stuff.

I may just end up going this route.... with a little searching I found this is basically a molle "admin pouch" with some straps and minor modifications I can make with my machine. Buying the pouch body and modding will save me so much time and effort (and maybe cost the same or less)

It will def cost less than building if you have to buy basically anything. When i order fabric/buckles/ webbing I order way too much so I always have stuff on hand for random projects. Then they are "free" to make.

My only immediate dislike about that pouch is how far the zipper goes around. Good for some applications but not for mine, even though it has the piece of cord to make how far it opens adjustable. The small fanny pack I was running before had a zipper that went down too far for my purposes so I added a drop of super glue on both sides where I wanted it to stop. The zipper deciding to keep moving down and then your crap falling out while you are climbing is no bueno.

Overseas manufacturing is very streamlined and efficient. No, this isn’t an anti China post. Just a factual and statically proven statement.
For example.

Made one to match huh. I know you already made one of these for your bino harness cause you made me make one
I used leather for the interior on this one. No foam. Bad idea. The leather does not have nearly as much structure as the foam and it is much more grippy when drawing or inserting pistol. Live and learn.
