DIY Deer Cart

Unless the ground is sugar sand. Some designs will work better on certain ground/soil than others

Also this will slice its way behind u thru FL palmetto chops, slide over dead falls/palmetto roots, thru swamp grass, & sugar sand as u said

Works good in rough terrain but u will be holding more weight percentage than some other styles

It’s not ideal but pretty versatile

Folks who have tried the bicycle cart option... any issues with weight load? The model I’m looking at says 110lbs, which is a tiny deer in my neck of the woods.

Is this the sort of thing that probably can handle 300 lbs, but they are being super conservative?

If you don't have a bike - In my past lock-on days I would tie my drag rope to the butt area of my harness and pull in four-wheel drive, which was nice because I could grab small trees to help pull myself up hills (mostly hills where I hunt).

If I got a cart I'd probably attach it to my diaper for the same effect. Wouldn't be as easy as a full body harness, those shoulder straps really helped bare weight. But If I was making a special trip back to the truck for the cart I'd put it on. You'd definitely need two wheel cart for that though

Spin the saddle around and wear it backwards. Attach drag rope or strap to the bridge with a carabiner and pull "in 4wd".

Whoever comes to market with a deer cart with two hub drive ebike wheels is going to make a KILLLLLINGGGGG
@Weldabeast and @MaxJac posted one of those battery operated golf caddys in a different thread and got me thinking. Probably need a motor from an electric mobility scooter (after we steal the footrests for a platform) and the GPS unit off the golf caddy to slap something together.

I built a electric cart a few years ago from a old wheelchair. I kept having electrical problems and blowing out the control in it so I abandoned it but it worked on 3 deer pretty good. I have been paying attention to all the electric motor stuff that's been coming out as of late to have another go round with it.

I had an idea rattling around in my pea brain to use a heavy duty cordless drill. If it'll run an 8" ice auger, I'd think it might at least help up the hills on a deer cart. Make a mount on the cart to hold the drill, have a sprocket chucked into the drill, sprocket on the axle or wheel of the cart with a belt or chain drive. I think it would have to be one heck of a reduction though. I really don't want to sacrifice my drill trying either. I ran into this video too:

Have you used yours yet, did you like it?

here’s the link to the one I think you are talking about which is a heck of a deal.

Unfortunately this is the main use for mine.....I wish it hauled game more and salt less
