Can everyone send pictures of their DIY one sticks? Just got a scout for 1" tube and I'm going to make one but looking for ideas first. Thanks!

I’m using a full length helium stick w/single step aider. Not some fancy short thing by any means, but it’s not very heavy and I don’t care much for aiders more than 1 step. No matter what you do, I’d recommend double steps, rather than a dedicated left or right step…..if that makes sense.
I also have a short stick with mini platform and 2 step aider, but like the other one and full size platform better. I’ve sat for hours with just the short stick and mini platform and it sure works…..I’m still tinkering

Thanks for the feedback. Never seen anyone use a fully length stick before!

My toughest challenge climbing is raising my tether. It’s surely not the size of the stick(I’ve never had that problem). My right shoulder doesn’t really work well and doesn’t want to let me raise my arm(obviously that’s what I’m trying to do), so it’s like a direct hinder.
As far as carrying or even raising the stick, it don’t weigh much at all. I can also reroute the attachment cord and make a sling for carrying if desired.
Now if I were carrying 3 of these sticks, I’ll surely have a sling made with one of them…..the benefits of having 3 hard steps far outweigh the little bitty with sloppy stairs, imho.

Went with the Amsteel aider and one stick rope, webbing and acc cord was for testing purposes. Buddy of mine bent and welded the 1/4" 6061 plate, I only drilled and lightened it and wrapped with 550 cord. Stick is a cut down Muddy using factory cleat for now(works great with 3/16" dbl bury Amsteel. Weighs 3.7 lbs

Kind of where it started.

There's been "refinements" but consider the benefit of 1 aider step and 2-3 solid steps vs. 2 or more aider steps and 1-2 solid steps, depending on technique.

Still has merit.

@spear0 do you use a separate platform or do you hunt off a ROS or just the top of your one stick? @MS182610, great looking platform!!! That's awesome.

I hunt off of a predator platform. I find that having a full surface for my feet makes me more comfortable and I tend to sit longer. Smaller surfaces hurt my feet and it creates extra movement.

Beast Stick with a scout on the bottom, 3 step ultimaider, pack n play, and a cam cleat.

Pair it with my hang on stand so I can either use the saddle and scout or stand, whichever the situation calls for.

I'm wondering why your platform is on the bottom of your stick?
