Diy platform idea

Come on DIYers .....non metal platform, it can't be too hard. Where's the saddlehunter creativity gone? Throw your ideas in. I think the pool flexy noodle molle panel mat thing will work perfect as long as the noodles stay quiet. I guess I gotta buy a sewing machine

Im thinking something like this inside, with shaping material around it, inside a heavy canvas wedge shaped bag. This way you can reduce the size by at least 50% when transporting, strap it to the tre and give it some pumps to tighten it up and fill the voids.

I ordered one and have the canvas. Gonna give it a go!

the have everything from 3x3 to 12x12. Im gonna go with 6x6. Going with this shape for the bag, with hard foam in the top and the odd shapes in the front. The bag will slide behind everything and push the foam out and up. Gonna Rhino line the top and bottom of the bag for durability. This shape allows you to flip it for a angled platform. Strap will go through the slots on the side (think molle) and around the front, around the tree.

@always89y ... What material would work for this application in your opinion? Heavy duty, abrasion resistant, with some grip. Fire hose..drop cloth...I don't know fabric

Top flap compresses onto the bottom flap, which compresses on the tree..... correct? Giving you an angled spot for your feet?

No, I Think with the solid foam it will be pretty stiff. For the angled platform you just turn it over. So you have a flat side and an angled side to choose from

Like this. These are the dimensions I came up with

Im not familiar with it. Would water penetrate heavy Burlap?
Water would penetrate the burlap, but if the foam used is a closed cell type, it would not absorb water. I think because of the rough texture of burlap it would be less likely to squeak on the foam or make noise. The burlap would also give better traction than cordura IMO
