I hate carrying the big decoy sticks. Came up with this. Thought I would share.
DIY Turkey Decoy Pocket Post.
Parts (photo 1):
Old carbon arrow
3 inserts
1ea 2inch 8-32 bolt
2 field tips
Pink Paint
1. (Photo 2) Cut a 17" section of arrow (preferably including the insert end)
2. (Photo 3) Cut that in half
3. (Photo 4) clean out ends
4. (Photo 5) glue inserts into each end
5. (Photo 6) screw heads in, one end with washer behind head (decoy end)
6. (Photo 7) srew in 8-32 bolt leaving half exposed. Cut off head. This is your connection
7. paint it pink and use it!
Very compact and light and adds action to your decoy
Also, I keep a can of spray pan in the van. Spray down the decoy to give it the shine of a real turkey.
