DIY Utilibridge

I started at 32" and i have about a 1" of slack between the girth hitch and the prussic knot..gonna remake my continuous loop again as on my full bury on one leg is short 1 inch..still learning the continuous loop thing..1st one i made i made it with a triple locked brummel to attach to loop and lockstitch it..it worked pretty good before i found out the prussic needed to be full bury

The prusik amsteel is 5/32 and the dark is I ether 1/4 or 3/8”. For the prusik I started with 45” and got about a 10” cicle.

The double overhand knot is strategically placed where the buries meet. There is a 1/2” gap because getting it perfect is hard. I chose to do the main bury to cover the entire area that the prusik would cover. So there is one short bury and one very long one.

Heres how I do it. excuse the substitute materials...2inch webbing represents the lineman loop. Green 550 represents the amsteel prusik and the amsteel is the bridge.
1. Splice amsteel loop onto bridge
2. Wrap 1 side of the loop around your finger or 4 times
3. Pull that "coil" off of your finger
4. Flip that coil horizontally, so the inside coil is on the outside
4. Push bridge through.
5. Repeat on the other side of the loop.

See photos below

Someone may have already posted this (did not read this whole thread)...... How about this?

1. Make a prusik on you finger;
2. Remove from finger and carefully girth hitch the continuous loop around the bridge loop, pulling the entire prusik through the girth;
3. Thread bridge through Prusik.

Mind you, I have not done this, just trying to picture it in my head.

I tried it. When I get the loop big enough to girth hitch it’s too long under load. I tried using a small stick on the Prusik but it’s very tough. Seams like tethrd is putting it on then sewing the bridge loop but I could be completely wrong.

I would agree with this. Its difficult to get the tail short enough. Especially seems I don't believe theirs' on the Phantom is girth hitched.

Yea there’s no way they girth hitched it. Guess that’s where they will get me to buy this!! I still have a month of season so I’ll get through it with this diy version. It is a a game changer from my testing. I’ve been hanging on the column watching tv and it’s unreal how much you can adjust comfort.

You could make the prussic using a beener then girth hitch it to your loop then take beener off and carefully slide your bridge line thru then make what ever knot you need to make on your end of bridge..thats what i did

If you want it girth hitched to the bridge loop and be able to keep the legs of the prusik short you will need to girth hitch it to the bridge loop first and then form your prusik.

That is interesting..where could i get something like that..thank you info and pic
