DIY utillibridge

I used a 3/16 loop on the one I made . I don’t have my phantom yet but I am sure that is what they used. I like the 3/16 Amsteel.
Here is a picture of an ultribridge on a recon beside a triad on an H2.

Looks good. What size 3/16" continuous loop did you go with.

Got everything done except attaching bridge to the continuous loop. Tried to following the pushing up daisies video but I can’t tell quite what he is doing.

Any other videos detailing the second set of turns in the main line?

Ole H2 guy should try being a little more uplifting. He doesn’t really do his product justice by being all melancholy. I know you all have seen G2s videos and Tethrd videos, those guys are pumped about everything. That really goes a long way. Just seems like he might be undercutting himself in his videos.

Lol. He’s just a laid back dude. It got me to figure out how to attach it. That’s all I care about. Haha

Did tethrd ever release a DIY video for their bridge? Seem to remember they said they would.

Chilllll I’m not team Tethrd. I’m just commenting on the guy in the video. I think you’d be kidding yourself if you said that guy wasn’t dull and unexciting. I have not owned either companies product.

Everyone is so loyal to their brands they have to defend their honor or something.

I’m out, sorry to sidetrack the thread...

What? Did my question come across with a fanboy flavor or something?

I was genuinely asking the masses if there was a video on the YouTubes that I was missing.

But yes H2 is low energy compared to the ultra energy of Tethrd marketing.

I know 1/4” Amsteel bridge with 3/16” prussic is what Tethrd used. Anyone try 3/16” bridge 1/8” prussic?

I used 1/4 for the bridge and 1/8 for the prusik knot. Didn't have any 3/16 worked out good

has anyone tried 1/4 for both? 3/16 is much of a difference and it would keep the rope buying simplier.

Is that speculation or experience? It doesn't seem like it but I guess 3/16 is really 80% of 1/4" (actually a little smaller)

The recommendation is the prussic cord be 60-80% of host cord diameter. Remember you are doing full bury and bury for the continuous loop. So the diameters are larger

Trust me the 1/4 bridge on a 3/16 prusik is the way to go.

As for the guy who was asking about using 1/8 for the prusik. It works but the 3/16 is a better alternative. 3/16 holds just as well as the smaller 1/8 is stronger and breaks better when you go to adjust the bridge.

There is a reason the Tethrd bridge is 1/4 and 3/16!

So... I made 2 quick and dirty DIY utilibridges.

5/16” main line and 3/16” prussic. Main line was super fat at 5/8” and the Prussic was a bear to break.

Then I tried 3/16” main line and 1/8” prussic. Wasn’t to bad. It’s doable. The main like was about the size of my Oplux. A little less of a pain to break but harder than Tethrd’s utilibridge. I think I proved to myself Tethrd got the sizes correct.

I made one of these with 1/4" amsteel with a 1/8" amsteel prusik hitch. When I made my eye splice on the 1/4", I only buried the recommended amount of around 9 inches for that diameter. It works fine like this.

Why is it recommended to do a complete bury so that the entire rope is doubled?

how well does the prussic grab?

Almost too well. I also tried it at ground height after submerging in water to simulate rain. Works great.

I'm gonna have to make another one once I get a Recon Sling, so i'll probably do the full bury (it's just a pain though).

The full bury is to give the 1/4 amsteel an inner core for the prusik to grab on to. Additionally the full bury will allow the bridge to adjust it's entire length. One of the best features of the utillibridge is putting it into travel mode. (Adjusting it completely down) Can't do that if you have a 9" burry to bump into. The full burry really isn't that hard to do and worth the extra effort.

I also recommend the 3/16 amsteel for your prusik. The 1/8" works, but the 3/16 is 100% better.

The utillibridge is a great upgrade to the Recon sling. I put one on mine. I girth hitched a full burry 1/4" bridge and 3/16" prusik so I can quickly pull it off and go back to a webbing bridge. Don't think I ever will though. A 13" continues loop is needed if you choose to make the same conection.
