Do you climb with your bow?

Don’t mind the ugly fella, you get the point….and yes, I spray paint the straps

Jr, if you use a strap or cord for your gear, I think it’s a lot faster, adjustable (can move hooks) and lighter. I use webbing straps with clip connectors, then put S hooks on it, love it and 2 of the hooks will stay on it. I’ll make an amsteel cord here soon.

I have two HYS straps but because I usually hunt in a cluster of trees I use more than one tree to hang my shtuff plus I move stuff from tree to tree. Plus I hang stuff high and low. My pack I hang low and my bow I hang high. I just find it easier with my little hooks.

Right now I’m comfy and consistent climbing with the bow in tow. But I can’t stop watching those SRT JRB type climbs and no doubt I’ll have another rope purchase (plus)next season, so who knows what I’ll be doing then. I’m neck deep in this saddle hunting mess. About the only thing I know for sure is rappelling down is the only way to go! Well that and I’m having the time of my life!
