Does anyone use OnX app?

I been using onX and just started using hunt-stand as well. I like the map on HuntStand better since it doesn’t switch views as you zoom, but onX has topo overlay over terrain. I also like the way hunt stand groups your spots in folders basically. Best thing with onX is the offline mode, download your map and use it while on airplane mode saving battery.

End of the day there’s pluses and minuses of each, as usual. Try both if you have the room

Today (09-17-19) Camofire has giftcards for a year of onX for sale. 1 state is $17.99 and all 50 are $59.99 plus shipping. That is a better discount than the various promo codes if I remember correctly. They have these cards on sale fairly regularly.

Thanks! That's awesome

I have HuntStand installed from last year, loaded it free but was not aware you could purchase an upgraded version, is it worth the cost (How much?)

I use onx and love it. Had the free version of hunt stand and lost all my pins and all my saved info a couple years ago in an update. Went to onx and paid the $30 a year and never looked back.

If you watch camofire.com they usually have the cards for one state come up for $17.99. I think its WELL worth the money. They only thing it sucks at is telling me the wind direction. Every time I've tried it, its told me one thing and the wind has been doing another. Which, when scoutlook was my go to, I never had that problem. But I still prefer onX over scoutlook.

Thanks! I did order it off of Camo fire.com and should receive it tomorrow! Thanks for your help. Will consider the wind direction thing

I still like my garmin + google earth for really in-depth topo and map exploration, but OnX is hard to beat for convenience and ease-of-use.

I just subscribed to OnX last night. Oh my gosh. Huge time saver. I have spent countless time alt+tab’ing between Google Earth and state maps attempting to create my own. Not anymore. Definitely a great purchase and the THP promo still works.

This is an alternative to OnX: GAIA

I tried OnX for the free trial period at same time as Gaia and went with Gaia. It has equivalent features as OnX but was quite a bit less expensive for my multi-state needs.

They are both great apps.

I used it free for a while, but then I upgraded. There are alot of promo codes out there for 20% off. THP for the hunting public and RANDY for Randy Newberg are 2 that are almost always active.

OnX is the only way to go. Paid version is well worth it if you hunt.
