Not the v-brackets, they only fit 1". Next project is the platform brackets for 1 1/4" posts - he should be starting this once he's caught up on SquirrelSteps, v-brackets, and DoubleSteps. Should be rolling some prototypes before year-end.

Where do I find instructions on attaching a photo? I'll take one when I get home.
Again, the bolts that came with my LW sticks are 1/4-28. Only need to replace bottom bolt with 2" when adding top step mod. A 1/4-20 would work fine. I just matched what factory spec'd. Today I added another nut under nylon nut and two sided ext tape between step and to remove slight movement. Seems to have worked.
I used a grade 5 bolt as no grade 8 available on short notice.
The step is a quality product. I recommend it highly.

@DanO Curious about the development of the angled double step. Is it more for feedback while descending, and feeling which side of the step you are on?

Just had some requests for them. I personally like the flat steps but would use the angled if that is all I had. Flat steps work better for the top of the stick next to your platform possibly. However, many of the steps out there have an angle and one of the reasons is to account for a non-level setup. This would allow you to have a 7 degree angle on your sticks and still have a level step. Also helps keep your foot from slipping off the step. Perhaps a good setup would be an angled step on the bottom and flat step on top. I'd be curious to hear more feedback on what you all think is the preferred step.

Just got done with some saddle/platform yard training. The doublesteps and the tree bracket are rock solid! The wing nut feature works on both the LW and my DIY sticks with doublesteps, and only takes a few minutes to re-rig the sticks prior to climbing.
Awesome job on those two products. Guess my new name should be "wingnut", huh?
 
Any possibility of a step angled on the X axis and not the Y axis?

I often tout the greatness of being able to climb a smaller tree, but it was only just recently that I truly discovered why my brain gravitates to these smaller trees.....it’s because of my big ol dang feet. A lone wolf stick on a tree over 12” diameter doesn’t leave a lot of room for my feet on top of the step. I’ve thought about spacers, but I keep coming up with that being a bad idea all around......although I did just have an idea for a sleeve to fit over the steps, hmmm......

Anyway, steps angles away from the tree.....possible or not? I understand the price would go up quite a bit so expensive the angle would have to be cut into the steps unless you had your own annealing setup so it simply may be cost prohibitive.
 
Something like this (sleeve idea).....

I could use use angle and a second piece of metal as a backing instead of welding to form a channel, drill holes and bolt it to the step. I don’t really care about the weight of it since I’m probably going to transition to one stick climbing anyway....so much to think about here.....

(I need it to quit raining so I can focus my efforts on my real job, lol)

If you're not against a little more carry weight, check out the XOP sticks. Standoffs from the tree are deeper and the steps themselves are quite a bit bigger than the LW's. I use mine later in the year as I transition to heavier insulator boots and more layers.
