Dray one sticking

Yes, it is easy to do. When you are moving your stick the hammock supports you better than a regular saddle so it makes it easier to sit in comfort while moving up or down

Dray: A truck or cart for delivering heavy loads, especially one with low sides

I one stick without deploying the hammock. Uncomfortable, it sure is but for the very short amount of time I hang it’s fine.

A few threads on the saddle:

@_Dario posted a one stick video, but has since sold their dryad saddle and moved onto Flat Branch saddle.

I have the retrofit kit on my 2 panel latitude, I use the saddle as usual to climb and then deploy the hammock at height. Seems like adding the retrofit kit to a saddle you already one stick with is the easiest and most comfortable way to one stick with a drey but the down side would be the added bulk. For me the added comfort outwieghs the bulk and I dont wear my saddle in so that probably makes a difference too.

I’m about to try with mine… I love my drey.. I hunt with bolts and they are better than anything for presets but running and gunning doing 2-3 sets a day with 20 bolts gets old.

What do you do with your repel line while your climbing and at height?

Reporting back, I have a handful of hunts one sticking with my drey. Killed one doe doing it so far.

I don’t use leg straps and deploy saddle before I climb.

I toss my rappel rope out tie my bow to it and start climbing. I’ve tried one sticking before in other saddles and it isn’t nearly as comfortable as using the drey. Once at height abs set up I took my rappel rope back up after retrieving my bow and tuck it in my bag.

I have 25ft of 9mm rope for my rappel that easily fits in the pouch with the hammock when its packed up. I leave the end of my rappel line with the quick link out and clip it to my right linemens loop so its easy to reach when im ready to tether in for climbing and zip the pouch up as far as I can while leaving the rope "feeding" out of the pouch for easy access. When im at height I drop the extra rope in my pack which I usually hang from the lower right side of the tree just above my platform so its out of the way. When im ready to rappel down I drop the line to the ground, pull my gear off the tree and head down.

Good deal, seems like that works well. I'm really considering getting a drey. I'm wondering if I should pair with my phantom, or get a cruzr xc like I was planning and pair it with the retro fit kit. Or if I should just go all in with the drey ll. I have a few presets but mainly one stick.

Just buy the drey. No reason to pair it with another saddle… I’ve bought and sold a ton of saddles and this is the best.. so many ways to adjust it.

Anyone have issues with the hammock not staying right on your body when you get to the top of the one stick? Has anyone found a solution? New to one stick climbing and the drey this year.
