If you’re one sticking, what do you do if you drop your stick? I’m assuming you’d hook up your pull rope and then rappel down?
Are you still one sticking? Just sliding it up as you go?The good ol’ cam cleat y’all like so much
I can’t drop my stick because my daisy chain stays in place the entire climb. If I let go of mine it falls about 6”.
I don't know how this is possible? Even with a massive amount of slack in the line it sounds like a miserable way to climb. The good ol’ cam cleat y’all like so much

I did however get rid of my cam cleats and went back to the buckle-less method for one sticking.
Plan A is don't drop the stick
Plan B is to rappel down and get the stick.
I climb on my rappel line so it's not going to cost me much time at all. I have never once dropped a stick or came remotely close to losing one. Before rappelling I would tie a piece of paracord from me to the stick, but that cord got caught up and caused more grief than it was worth.
First don’t drop your stick…… zip down the tree or fish it up. Btw I did drop my bow once after I shot a nice buck & got the Elvis leg & had to sit down, went to hang my bow on the hook. Nope straight to the ground 24-25’ down landing flat as a pancake in the leaves….. didn’t want to come across as high & mighty. But I’ve not dropped my climbing methods
I was lucky it landed exactly parallel to the ground flat as can be , just like youlld place in a case……. No issues. Sometimes when it’s all happens super quick that adrenaline dump gets me!!!Elvis leg! I can’t wait to experience this.
How’d your bow handle that fall?

Well, since I wouldn’t have a need to slide my sticks up as I go if I was using multiple sticks I would have to say that I’m “still one sticking” lol
Yes, I slide it up as I go. You can put plenty of slack on the strap and get the stick to bite, trust me. I climb up, set my tether then reach down and pull the stick up a little to loosen the strap then hold the strap while raising the stick. It’s stupid simple. For most, I guess.
