Well I managed to do what I didn’t think I would. I have dropped a spur while at hunting height...I think I’ll just use my tether and single spur and lineman’s belt to work my way down. Any other suggestions?

That sucks!!!! Doesn’t even look like a good situation to fish it up if you had a hook. Baby it on the way down, stay safe!

Worst case scenario there! Let us know how you manage.

I'd recommend packing 30' to 40' section of Sterling OpLux or HTP, an ATC and carabiner. Super easy to get down and even if you prefer coming down with your spikes there may be another time when you really NEED that back-up option.

You can use your lineman’s belt and tie your boot laces together. I have climbed trees in a pinch like that. The laces latch into the bark pretty well

Ok I’m down it actually wasn’t that bad. I used my lineman’s belt plus my tether and just one spurred my way down. I didn’t feel unsafe but it was uncomfortable. Glad to know my bailout plan now if that ever were to happen again. It shouldn’t thanks to some mods that will be made tonight!

This is like the 4th time I’ve shared this pic with someone who dropped something out of the tree. This treble hook has retrieved probably a dozen things for me. Everyone needs one. Lol

Is this going to be the hot new climbing method now? One-Spur climbing - save weight and bulk by leaving one spur at home...

Had you taken your spurs off in the tree or were they still on?

I had removed both of them and they were hanging from my accessories hook. I have no idea how it fell but they damn sure did.
