Hey guys I'm super strict about my scent control. I usually after washing hang dry my stuff outside before putting them into airtight bags. However this week it's raining nonstop till my hunts this weekend and I've got to use my dryer. I've already ran 2 loads of towels thru with scent free All detergent ,and I plan on wiping the inside with scent free spray. What are some other thing I can do to really help take out the human scent still in the dryer. I have a portable ozone machine, should I out that in there before I dry my clothes?
I'm open to all ears and suggestions....

If I have to use my dryer I have some earth scented dryer sheets that I throw in with the clothes but I use a lot of scentlok and they recommend not to use anything with their products.

I think you are worrying about it too much. I used to be this way and it just gets overwhelming IMHO. Do the best you can and hunt watching thermals and wind direction and your access approach and get higher in your setups. Those things are more important in my opinion. The master of scent control John Eberhart just runs loads of towels in his dryer first then does his scentlock. He's way more concerned about the interior being cleaned out of the garment than the exterior which blows my mind. In anticipation of this, I air dry a few sets of garments and then stow them in clean bins to have for times like this.

I deabsorb my Scentlok in the dryer as recommended and I have not had a problem with it. We do use scent free detergents and dryer sheets year-round though.

I prob need to do a separate post on this with pics. But what I did is build a metal box behind my dryer and ducted to the outdoors. With the help of a fan. I also run an ozone generator into this duct. Helps that i am an HVAC guy and have access to all this stuff.

The reason I went to these extremes is. One of our cats got into my hunting room and took a pee behind the dryer. All clothes were rancid.

Yeah I was thinking about hitting everything with ozone in separate plastic tubs.. we'll see.. I've just seen the difference in my scent control and just playing the wind. Thanks for all the input

For all you scent control hunters, here is a link to help you cope with your insanity: https://www.betterhelp.com Use code: EBERHART10 at checkout for 10% off!

But in all seriousness, here is an easier method I suggest trying. Hang dry your clothes in your house or just run them through the dryer and don't lose sleep. Go to Tractor Supply and get a thing of cedar chips. Toss your clothes (dry) into a tote with those cedar chips and shake it all around. Let em sit all night. Take your clothes into woods before your hunt and rub them all on the ground.

This was something a professional trapper I knew did to control the scent his boots or clothes would leave on the ground.

You should be fine running the towels first. Ozone prolly wouldn’t hurt but make sure it’s all evacuated before you throw your clothes in as it’s hard on elastics.

Got no cedars where I hunt. That would just put the deers on high alert.

Skip the dryer, just ozone your clothes

Throw your clothes in a tote and dump a half bag of corn or protein pellets in there and put the lid on. Now you will smell like breakfast. Used to joke about it but have been doing this most of the season. I have only been up a tree once this year without sweating and I have not had a single deer blow at me.
