I’ve narrowed my search down to the Durston xmid 1. Stuck between the solid and the regular.

My main concern is condensation that may or may not occur with the plain xmid 1. I have a down bag and really don’t want to mess with drying it out constantly.

Anyone have one of these tents and care to weigh in?

When will you be using it? Below freezing or above freezing? I have the xmid 1 and have only used it fly only 40 and below. Id go solid if I bought again but I don't use the inside liner that came with it. If you plan on putting gear inside with you it's worth going up to the 2 for more room inside and not much more weight.

I doubt I will be out to far below freezing but you never know. I would say 85 percent above freezing. More worried about the humidity causing condensation than the cold.

I just bought the X-mid 1 in regular, I haven’t even set it up yet, but will be using it soon, I went regular because I hate condensation and also use a WM down bag, I doubt I will be using mine in any shoulder season temps, more of a summer scouting tent, I almost went with the solid just for splash up, but the fly is so big on this thing for a 1 man tent I doubt that will be an issue.

If your not planning on being in the freezing temperature go regular. Don't run it all the way to the ground and open the 2 vents on the sides and condensation won't be to bad. I've used mine with a down bag also and it wasn't a problem as long as you dont run it closed up.

@WPS87 I just sent this new tent up, for solo shelters this thing is a beast, I’m not a fan of crap hanging in my face (liner), I’m 6’1” 220 and have plenty of room in this thing, it’s been years since I bought a dedicated solo tent, my initial impressions are this thing is legit, time will tell, hopefully soon.. how it performs. FYI I have the new and latest version of the XMID 1.

Every thing I have read and watch made it sound that way. Seems to be the perfect blend of light weight and compact. Also seems to go up really quick as well.
