Eastern Woods Outdoors Custom Sticks

I will say I 100% agree it’s expensive but you do not have to settle for anything you do not like or want. I am glad I have them and won’t be selling mine ... I don’t think lol

2x. I wouldn’t re sell it either because of liability risk.

This is the rope I use. Expensive but rated at 5000 pounds.

A full bury on some Amsteel would work. Maybe 3/16

I am not meaning to sound like a smart ass, but why do you need 5000lbs rope on a cam cleat with a 275lbs working load?

Rope might be in max break strength; whereas, the cam cleat is a working load.

Working load is only a fraction of the systems ultimate. So, depending on a safety factor that cam cleat might be able to withstand a little more. If the rope is working load as well then I’d agree that you’d be way over your weakest link which would be the cam.

You don’t. But some one might question using 5 mm rope

Not a smart ass question. I just want light reliable rope. Amsteel slips a bit likely because of the texture. I want something light and strong that will not slip
Cost is in Cdn dollars and I only need I rope for one sticking

I expect TRC from EWO will work

The API sticks are super easy to convert as well to 20" sticks and by drilling some holes you can lighten them a lot. I found them for 75 bucks for a set of 3 and I am pretty sure I will get them under 2.3#s per stick. I will also say I am 55 years old and not all that concerned with an extra pound or two. Iowa and Nebraska are in my plans this year and even hiking a mile or more with my full set up weighing 18#s won't be an issue. Shawn

I’d put my custom ultralight DanO stick up against a beast stick any day of the week. I’m sorry but the beast stick doesn’t hold a candle to these ultra lights that can be built from parts from DanO.

How much did this cost you to set-up? This looks like the ideal one-sticking method stick. Where di you get the rope cam?

Think I was right around $130ish for everything. Ended up getting the cam cleat from another memeber here via the classifieds section. Was it the cheapest option, hells no. Do I regret it, HELLS NO. Would I do it again if needed, in a heartbeat. Personally I think there is nothing better than building your own stuff/sourcing ones own parts so the few extra bucks I spent was worth it to me. It allowed me to build it myself and support one of our members vs the money going to some big box store.
