As some of you might know, my sons and I started a new YouTube channel titled Eberhart Outdoors and we just posted a 35 minute video on the many advantages of saddles over any conventional stands. This video also goes into some detail on hunting crooked trees, big trees, step placement and how to properly maneuver around trees so you don't get picked.
In the entire video I am wearing the new Eberhart's Signature Saddle (ESS) that will be sold through Tethrd at the end of August.
There will be an entire episode posted in a couple weeks showing and explaining what I consider to be the advantages of the ESS over other saddles due to my 40 years of experience hunting them.
I also want to personally thank Scott Hamilton for starting this Saddle Hunter forum back in 2013 (I think) as without this forum, the ever growing popularity of saddles would not be remotely close to what it is today as most of the saddle and saddle hunting accessory company owners came from this forum. While I devoted a complete chapter to saddle hunting in each of my 3 bowhunting books, this site is what brought everyone together and then entrepreneurship took over from there.

A fantastic video. Thanks from a new saddle hunter in mid michigan (who hunts exclusively public land close to Lansing). All your comments about hunting pressured deer resonate strongly with me. Reading your books profoundly changed my approach to hunting deer. And now, being able to see your videos is a great opportunity to learn more.

I appreciate the opportunity to learn this stuff from pros like you. I’ve watched your videos as well as multiple podcast and videos you’ve been featured in and you’re record speaks for itself.

Your book, "The Eberhart way" sold me on saddle hunting. Can't wait to get off the ground. Going to be a game changer this year. Now I just need to buy my first saddle. Can't wait to see what yours has to offer.

You have to wonder about a guy who has more boots than my wife has shoes, lol. Great videos. Practicing in the back yard is necessary and great learning, however one thing I found to be greatly helpful when I started out saddle hunting is to practice in September/October on does. Everything from practicing entry, exits, climbing, setting up quietly, etc. Also get into situations where there are multiple does coming in and hanging around, practice moving and drawing from different positions, see if you can get away without getting busted. There is a decent learning curve saddle vs tree stand. A new video of John practicing on does would be great, those little nuances in technique really help.

This was a great video. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Reading "Bowhunting Whitetails the Eberhart Way" a few years back was a game changer for me.

I wish I was a headlight on a north-bound train
