Eberhart Signature Saddle Intro

After watching the video think I will stick with the metal-less method. I thought about trying the ess out but too much metal not interested at all now.
It is a cool feature. I think that Oplux waist belt is a great idea.

Got the ESS today my thoughts are it’s a very well made product Maybe the best made I have seen.
I have no doubt this saddle will last for years and be comfortable like most all sling style saddles are.
This isn’t a review because I’ll be honest I didn’t even try it out on a tree I pulled it out of the box figured out how to put it on and that’s as far as I got.
I have no plans to mess with it again I like my phantom and it’s perfect for my style of hunting.
Sorry I can’t give you guys better feedback but my season is open and with work I can’t give you guys a really good review all I’ll say is it’s high quality.

The stitching looks as good as a recon which is excellent too.

When it comes to something that is holding me up in a tree 20 plus feet in the air I'll pay the extra money for an American-made product every day of the week. It's the same reason I will never buy a cheap Chinese carabiner, tree step, or stick not worth risking my life to save money.

Aerohunter seems to be riding that wagon. I guess it’s the only thing they got on the competition these days.

They have thirty-five years of making saddles and they are 100% made in America. Lots of satisfied AeroHunter customers would disagree with you on that point as well as climbers and those in the arborist industry. I know many people that prefer to buy products that were manufactured in the US for many reasons but better quality is a major factor.

Well I am not going to deny the craftsmanship of the products are top notch. The dirty politicking I see from them turns me off. After seeing the posts bad mouthing other companies and just plain arrogance displayed on FB by Corrigan Jan and Casey Jones I canceled my Merlin order. I would rather hunt from the ground than support those two.

I wish we could all buy made in America every time. And wish everything we needed or wanted was made here in the good Ol USA. But unfortunately china is a competitor and we have to make our own decisions about buying stuff from other countries. Hopefully more and more manufacturing can come home to America where we live and work and try to provide for our families. I personally try to buy made in America when its available with a competitive price point and I think all Americans should try to do that to support the companies that are American made. But that being said I don't like thinking I'm buying American made when I'm actually not.

Corrigan Jan is an *******... he blocked me for asking questions about aero built saddles that he didn’t know the answers too... aero will NEVER see a penny from me and I make sure I tell everyone I can not to do business with those dirt bags...

So more or less they continue to suck at marketing.

Jan/Jann Corrigan is an offputting zealot on facebook who's also "marketing manager" at Aerohunter since spring 2019. No idea on the other guy. I'd agree that his association reflects at least somewhat poorly on Aerohunter. But facebook is terrible in general.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought I read somewhere that the saddle comes with 2 plastic clips to help hold the panels in place as you walk. I didn't get anything with mine

The ESS yes it’s supposed to. Other than that what are your thoughts on it?

Seems like I was hosed then... Im probably not the right person to give a solid opinion on it. Other than screwing around once or twice on my cousins Mantis last year, this is my first saddle. Within a few minutes of adjusting I found it to be extremely comfortable. Leg straps seem worthless and just a source of extra noise so I'll probably chop those off. Not sure the d rings do a whole lot. Seemed like no matter the position I was in, the bridge was connected to the same exact spot on the ring. My only real concern and gripe is the noise of the d rings.. I can see it already. One of my prime bedding areas to hunt, I sneak in, methodically watching every step I take, arrive at my tree... Thrilled knowing I was pretty quiet and didn't hear anything crash out of there... Begin to climb and WHAM one of my rings smashes into my stick step. There goes me big crashing outta there

I'm glad we are seeing reviews come in. I suspected the d-rings did not do much. Similar to the "comfort channels". They couldn't rubber coat them because the bridge wouldn't be able to slide and adjust. So they cost you a buck (not the green ones). Attached leg loops seem like a bad idea when they are removable on the Method and Recon. I have a Method but the Recon also seems like a solid choice and killer deal. Once again both made in USA for those that care about that sort of thing. I just don't see the appeal of the ESS? Some one open my eyes.

The only reason I wanted this saddle was because I trust John. Ever since closely and intently listening to his and Infalts advice, I've had more mature buck encounters the last 3 years than I've had the previous 15. As you guys mentioned, it does feel like to me Tethrd heavily had there hand involved with this. I would think the noise factor alone would drive John insane. I want to brainstorm ideas to silence the rings on the way to the stand. Maybe cover them with an old cutup heavy wool sock, then remove it when it's time to connect to the tree. If I can't silence them I won't use this saddle. One thing about me, I'm absolutely anal about sound. Anything unnatural drives me absolutely bananas. Must have given Lou 150$ over the years for stealth strips alone lol

bigmike23,

Check out the videos of Jim Hole Jr. He is a big proponent of hockey tape (as well as tree bolts btw). He is certainly hardcore.

As you confirmed, the bridge sliding on the D-ring is not a "big deal" as when under tension, it only sits directly opposite the webbing in the D-ring. I don't see a reason why you couldn't stealth strip or hockey tape that D-ring.

See at the 7:40 mark

John has solid advice, but the number of saddles he's endorsed as "this is what I use" while continuing to use his old anderson is hilarious.
