Eberlestock packs

No hip belt on there. It came with a little strap but i wouldn't call it a hipbelt.
I switched to the X2.
more weight but worth the hassle here in Michigan with added layers etc..
I thought their website said you could buy and add a hipbelt but maybe thats not right

I can't recall 100% but i do believe there was a way you could add their hip belt. I thought you asked if i had one on there, I just had the stock strap.

I'm in love with the X2. Fits me like a glove. I have a lot of packs and this is my favorite.

What Treestand hand climber is this? Sorry for the off topic post but I would like to know.

I'm looking hard at the X2 myself. I know this thread was created a few years ago, but if you guys still use the X2, has it stood the test of time and are there any changes/improvement you would mention? I want to get one very soon and get to working with it. . .hunting season is only a few months away!!! Thank you.

There is one for sale in the classifieds here currently.
I use the X2 and love it. I have had it for two seasons now. I use four sticks and a platform and it’s perfect for me and my setup. I’ve also had their military packs for years with no issues. They are a great company to deal with also if an issue should arise.

I walk in with two sticks on each side and platform in the middle. Cruzr Seeker this year or the very large Trophyline mission the last two seasons. I get to the tree. Platform goes to middle back of saddle. One stick on each side of saddle which are stick three and four. Stick one goes on tree while standing and stick two is in hand. Once the X2 is unloaded of those things and I’ve put clothing on or taken clothing off and pack is ready again, I put my bow where the sticks and platform were and carry everything up in one trip all at the same time. Then Genesis 3D gear strap comes out and pack, quiver and bow go on that after tether and platform are all set. Reverse back down.

Yes my X2 has over 120 public land hunts on it now and still looks brand new. And I walk through some very thick stuff on most hunts. I also use it for all my plane travel too. Zippers are all still perfect as well. I am trying out the Eberlestock Dagger pack this year to see if I can shave a few pounds.

I have the X2 for late season and all day hunts. LL Bean Maine Warden pack for midseason and shorter hunts and the Dagger for early season and scouting.

The X2 is a pretty good pack for whitetail deer hunting and packing your saddle gear. Plenty of room in the main compartment. Climbing sticks stack nicely on the outside of the pack using the side compression panels and buckles. Most platforms (including the Mission) can fit in the middle section and lash nicely together using the bottom compression panel.

Eberlestock packs have a pretty good reputation. Well built. Quality. Comfortable (for some, more on that below).

There are generally two areas where people see improvements needed for this pack.

The first is an easy fix, and that is to completely remove the frame and wrap it in hockey tape or vet wrap to eliminate any squeaking of the frame. The squeaky frame has happened on some (but not all) X2 packs. (You can look this up online) Again, an easy remedy.

The second thing you will hear about the X2 is a lack of functional load lifters. This is somewhat of a function of fit for the user and use. Depending on your torso length and how much weight you are carrying, this could be an issue. As a general statement, if the X2 fits your torso well or you are not hauling a great deal of weight for extended distances, the pack will work great. If, however, it does not fit your torso well, and you are packing a heavy load for any distance, the lack of functional load lifters will become a real issue. (Elk hunting in the mountains, packing meat, etc.). Again, not a “problem” that everyone will experience, but some certainly have!

For most whitetail hunts, carrying in saddle hunting gear, this pack will work really well!

Thank you guys for the helpful information and Maverick1 for the tips. I plan on ordering one now.
