First of all I’m not sold on the retractable aided on the ninjas, I’d rather run a two step amsteel aided on every stick. But the ninjas don’t look as if the step layout would accommodate the aiders I like, what kind of aiders are you all using on these. I’m leaning more to the ewo featherlights if I don’t see any viable aided options on the ninjas. Thanks everyone

Ninja's have composite steps that flex. You don't want to run aiders on the steps. I'd even ask TN about Versa Aiders, to be on the safe side.

EWO, you can run about any style of aider.

What aren't you sold on with the Timber Ninja aiders? They're stiff and easy to get your foot in and out of. They just slide up inside the tube and when you pull them down they stop on the bolt. So simple but ingenious at the same time. I like that there is nothing to deal with when packing them up. I have Amstel aiders on some Hawk Helium sticks and I think it is harder to get my foot into and out of.

I run a 3 step amsteel aider on my bottom stick, puts me at almost eight feet to start then a double step aider on the next two sticks. I can get well over 20 ft I can get to 20 feet comfortably with three sticks and only a 18 in step. The ninjas will only give me one step less than 15 in I believe. I’m currently using muddy pros. A bit heavy, and starting wiggle more and more, three seasons many many climbs. I love the cam cleats but I’d like something a little lighter.

Yeah they are not for you since you have multiple steps and run three sticks. A 20" stick with the aider is 35"s. Realistically you can get 18' with four sticks with aiders.

Realistically? So you have 4 sticks with aiders and you are getting 18 ft with them?
Yes, without stretching uncomfortably from stick to stick. I see some post that they can get 20' with four 20" sticks without an aider. I do not have a clue how they do that as my 20" sticks with 15" aider I can get 54" or so per stick being 6'2". I can easily see how you get so high using three with your aider setup.

I don't really use sticks much, but I'll put the bottom step as high as 42 in and space 24 in between sticks, plus 24 in to platform/ROS. for 4 20-in sticks that would come to 18 ft. I can't imagine many people stretching out much more than that.

Full length sticks would easily make it, though.

Agree with everything you said, that is definitely stretching it out.

Maybe they mean to the top of their head? I can easily see that, I just always think of height to my feet.

I can get my feet 18' off the ground with 3 - 24" sticks with single step 24" aider. I get 6' per stick, that's 18' add a platform 2' above stick and my feet are at 20'.

Gator, nothing wrong with being up 20 feet. As long as you have cover and stay still, that should work fine. Some guys really stretch things out and can get to higher heights with less gear. I try to climb more conservatively, especially in the colder weather when heavy, bulky clothing makes it difficult to climb. I have always felt the location and cover were more important than a certain height.

I don't think you can go wrong with the feathersticks. The parts are so well made and will most likely outlast any other sticks out there. they are worth the price. Theres more packable options but if quality, durability and longevity are what you are after the EWO sticks are tough to beat.

I’ve used both and still have the EWO featherweight sticks....
