I was really hesitant to buy these as they were so expensive. I ended up getting them with the wire aiders after talking myself into them over time. Been using them for about the past 2 months in practice and then when season started.

Wow is the word. I don't have a ton of experience with different sticks but really a night and day difference from my helium hawks even after a lot of work to modify those.

Using amsteel daisy chain (as discussed in other thread by looping back through the daisy chain and pulling tight) and these things are so solid on the tree I could use them as a corner to support a structure. Exaggeration due to weight limit of course but that's how solid they feel. Even in the dark without a flashlight coming down my feet had no problem finding the wire aiders.

They are just as light as advertised and fit sideways on my buttpack without catching brush as long as I'm careful. The machining is top notch. They fit together in a stack like a glove and with one small bungee stay stacked without moving. The wire aiders are also useful because I slip them over my head and arm to store while climbing the tree. I use 3 sticks with the aiders so one on the tree and one on each side and I never notice they are there till I need them and they dont clank together that way.

I got the angled top step platform (OOAL) with them for my top stick. Forgot my knee pads for the past hunt of several days and not the most comfortable on my feet for extended sits even in my rubber boots without occasionally being able to take the pressure off by sitting. I think with knee pads and an extra back brace around my knees for smaller diameter trees and a couple squirrel steps for support moving around the tree and that's the ticket. The stick and top step platform did handle as much side pressure as I could put on it without even a hint of budging so that's not the reason for steps.

All in all those sticks are worth every penny I paid. Quality at every step of the way and night and day difference between them and cheaper sticks. I'll never go back. On top of all that Dan was awesome. Was really short on sleep with the new kid when I placed the order and fumbled that order badly. Had to go back and make several corrections and Dan just called me and got it straightened out. Helluva nice guy, great company and sticks I couldn't be happier with.

Anyway, that's my 2 cents. If you are considering and haven't made the jump have no reservations.

I'll add my .02. I love the OOAL sticks. Liked the rotation the stick when it was in my basement. Realized real fast when I put it on a tree and due to arthritis in my hands that I could not get it tight enough for the pressure. Even used the method everyone talked about. Looked at EWO stick and bite the bullet. Ordered the ultra lite in everything and a two step aider with 13" between each step. Perfect stick for the one stick method. Sold my OOAL sticks and will keep my EWO sticks.

I love mine. I have a 20” and a 22” with bottom step for sewn aiders. I sewed my own aiders and set one up for a cam cleat. I have a cam cleat for the second one as well. I really have only used the 20” one as I either one stick or SRT climb. I’m considering getting one of the shorter sticks as well since I just one stick. Probably will redo my aiders as well. I think three short steps in the same span as two long steps on the aider would be easier for me, especially while wearing multiple layers.
