Cant wait to see this!...totally stokedTorniquet method....with amsteel, lighter much quieter and just as strong as a ratchet strap! It's how they used to do scaffolding all over Asia and Thailand where I grew up. I use it for my steps!
Absolutely. It's very dependent on the length of your bolt... a shorter bolt will take more force to twist, but the one I use is 6 inches, and it can be held with my pinky. Obviously test it out thoroughly!Having not tried this method yet (but will in a few days). I'm considering locking down the twist tool with just a heavy nite ize gear tie. I usually carry one with me anyways. I would think that It would hold it with no problem without introducing any metal to the system. Thoughts?
I’m going to try this with a stealth stripped carriage bolt. Maybe a continuous loop of amsteel girth hitched instead of the s biner? I’m sure the stealth stripping would be enough though.Having not tried this method yet (but will in a few days). I'm considering locking down the twist tool with just a heavy nite ize gear tie. Yep, as long as you have it in far enough to put over the bolt but not where your foot could slip it off.I’m going to try this with a stealth stripped carriage bolt. Maybe a continuous loop of amsteel girth hitched instead of the s biner? I’m sure the stealth stripping would be enough though.
I would think plenty strong enough but might be hard to torque because it is kinda short.?Wondering if the aluminum toggle that is part of the MTS run & gun hoist that Double Steps sells would be strong enough?
