Father’s Day

My wife never has time to finish a hot coffee because of the kids so I got her one of those ember coffee mugs. It's basically rendered all the other coffee mugs useless. Also, got her a necklace with a handwritten message from my 5 year old on it and all the supplies to make her favorite drink, dark n stormys.

She got me a fishing life jacket, 2 river2sea s-wavers, and some great fishing themed dress socks. Win-win IMO

Too all the fathers!

Got her a few gifts and the kids helped me made chocolate covered strawberries. Biggest gift was a blanket that I order with prints of each kid's sonograms picture. For Father's day she gave me the printout of the invoice to Maddog Archery. She already paid for it and I just need to contact Mike (bowyer and owner of Maddog Archery) to customizes it. Will post the picture of the bow when I get it in mid of August.

My 4 years old kinda gave me a gift. I was helping her go to the restroom and we had a memoriable chat.

I quote:
"Daddy you are getting old. you have more gray hairs now"
"I'm going to miss you when you die."
"We are going to have to find another daddy, but I still love you."
God I love that girl......

One of my buddies likes to tell the story of his youngest daughter looking at him and saying (complete with wrinkled up nose) "Why did mommy choose you to be my daddy?" :tearsofjoy: :tearsofjoy: :tearsofjoy: She's number 7 of 8.

Your little girl on the far left is a spitting image of my now 22 yr old daughter at that age. I had to do a double take when I looked at that pic.

I'm a little late to the party here but I had an awesome Father's Day weekend. My daughter, Ashlynn, and I have, since she was about 3-1/2 years old have attended bow shoots (mainly traditional shoots) around the state. The Compton Traditional Bowhunters Rendezvous just so happens to be held on Father's Day weekend and is only about 25 miles from our home. My daughter has since moved to Dayton, Ohio making it more difficult for her to get back home. Two years ago we had Coronavirus and everything was shut down. Last year she had just started a new job and couldn't get time off. This year looked like a no-go too but she surprised me about a week before the event. She was coming and bringing her fiancée and his two children, age 6 and 8. Ashlynn's fiancée, Brian is a baseball player and has never been introduced to archery. Neither have his kids.
I had promised myself 3 years ago that the next shoot my daughter attended, I would buy her a new bow. I had a few bows that the kids could shoot and a couple that Brian could use as well. The kid's bow needed strings so I visited our local archery shop to get strings and nock sets installed. Our local archery shop, Ground Zero Archery, https://www.groundzeroarchery.com/ has a good stock of traditional bows and they run all of the kids shoots at the Compton shoot. It just so happens that they had a new Galaxy Sage (Samick) 3 piece takedown bow with 35# limbs, perfect for Ashlynn. I picked it up and kept the promise I had made to myself, getting her a new bow.
We chose to tent camp and the hot weather we had earlier in the week changed to very pleasant summer weather, cool at night to make for great sleeping. Anyway, Brian and the kids really took to archery and I think they are hooked on it as well!! Brian purchased a used bow from one of the vendors there and he seemed to have as much fun as anyone there!

Here's the kids Logan and Reagan on the kids range just starting to get the hang of shooting.

Here's Reagan, in pink shooting at aerial targets while Brian, behind her in the blue tee shirt and red hat is helping Logan try his luck too.

I feel that sometimes, but then I reminded myself that she wanted girls and we have 1boy/4girls. So I think I won the war.
