What’s everyone’s favorite budget or mid tier fixed blade breadhead?

Currently running some slick trick magnums but want to switch to something bigger/beefier due to wanting to build some new arrows.

I should have said I want to stick with 125 grain heads.

These would be on arrows for a compound. I’m currently running 50 grain brass inserts with 125 grain heads.

I've always had a pass thru with Grizzly single bevels. I shot this doe at 22 yards, she ran 35ish yards and fell over. Elite Ritual 30 at 57# and 29" Draw Length. Gold Tip Hunter XT 300 spine at 27", 100 gr. brass insert, 150 gr. Grizzly left single bevel and 3" feathers.

Magnus Snuffer 125 gr. that was shot out of an Obsession Fusion 7 at 58#. This buck ran 38 yards after a heart shot at 28 yards and fell over.

Magnus Stinger Killer Bee 100 gr. 7/8" cutting diameter, on a Gold Tip Hunter XT 300 spine at 27" with a 100 gr. brass insert. The shot was in just ahead of the right front shoulder and passed thru, exiting behind the left leg. Amazing blood trail. Shot from an Elite Ritual 30 with a 29" DL and 57# Draw Weight.

They’re more than Magnus but if you’re going to resharpen yourself and not just replace blades they’re definitely worth looking into imo

Hard to argue with results like that...
 
QAD exodus hands down. I've shot a lot of broadheads over the last 20 years, and the qad I get the best results with in a fixed blade and have to do minimal tuning to get them to fly right inside 50 yards. They also come very sharp right out of the package. Last year I killed 2 bucks with them on back to back hunts, 60lb bow 421 grain arrow at 270 fps zipped through both like butter. The 2nd buck ran 14 yards after the shot and fell over.
 
If you're hunting whitetails with a modern, reasonably well tuned compound bow and plan to keep it inside 30 yards, there are tons of great options out there. I'm partial to 125gr. Muzzy Trocars because I've (anecdotally) always had great results, they're affordable, and they fly great. I tried some of the fancy broadheads, but they whistled in the air and were a pain to get flying just right, so I went back to Muzzy's and haven't looked back. I might consider something else if I planned to shoot an elk at 60 yards or shot a much slower trad bow, but I doubt I ever shoot anything but a Muzzy for the conditions I described above.

Also, these days I feel as though I'm at enough of a disadvantage by switching from a compound and using a recurve. I just enjoy it more. :cool:
