Favorite YouTube hunting channel

Not only did I not watch it, but I unsubscribed to THP when I saw the title. But, now you have piqued my interest. I sure hope you’re right and he was making fun of that group. Thanks

It wasn't a laugh in the face kinda thing, you'll see. Didn't take it seriously and showed just how easy it is vrs hunting real woods on top of a few comments that's how I took it all anyways. It surely didn't do seekone any favors lol

Years ago it was Realtree, Mossy Oak, Drury. But it just isnt reality. I figured out they had thousands of acres on multiple farms to choose from. And it was alot of Big Bucks mixed in with some information. Drury was probably the best at the time on giving decent info to help hunters.
Now its THP, Whitetail Habitat Solutions, The Dr/scientist guy who wears a big hat but gives some great info on deer movement and activity( cant remember his name right now) and a few others for good info for hunting. I like Average Jack. The guy is a middle school teacher and finds time to make good videos and seems like he would be just a good guy that lives down the road.
I believe the Dr./Scientist guy in the big hat you refer to in your post is Dr. Grant Woods in Georgia but the name of his channel/website escapes me right now. He has great information too and I like that he focuses in the late season on trapping predators to maintain your property and keep your game populations under control as an important component of your overall land/property management objectives.

I mostly watch guys Within my 7 deg of separation. Lol
Catman hunting buddy
G2 saddleploosa buddy which includes Tethrd
I watch others but it just seems easier to watch guys you know and get into the video. For me especially Catman I know most places he’s hunting and it’s cool seeing what he is seeing when I’m not there or in a different area.
I watch a few other guys from this forum. But I am out on gear reviews. I don’t even watch the ones the guys I follow do. I just skip them. I just want to see the hunt keep the sales pitch, yes I know I’m doing it wrong I don’t need YouTube reminding me.

Curious to know which title you are talking about "Deer Hunting in the City w/Seek One"? I must have missed something.

Forgot to add ole RF! The Ranch Fairy! Never shot flipper flappers and always been at least 450 but love how much others despise him

I think I saw in one of the videos on Midwest Whitetail, Bill Winke said he sold his farm and is moving somewhere else which kind of put a damper on his normal hunting routine for this year. Guessing that’s the biggest thing that’s different. Haven’t kept up with that channel as much this year as others so far.

I recalled some chatter about MW and what was going on with Bill on this site this year. I believe it was this thread. Anyways, I just saw this update:

"Thanks. I am no longer involved with Midwest Whitetail. The guys that are running it now are doing a great job and they don’t need me. I am trying to decide on my next career path and taking a bit of time off. I will likely have some kind of plan within the next couple of months. The only thing I know for sure is that I will be a volunteer track coach for a local high school.

Regarding the farm, I have given up my search for now. I spent a year of pretty thorough searching trying to buy something nice in the areas where I wanted to be. Nothing. I talked to a lot of people but no one in those areas wants to sell now. Maybe in time, but not right now. So I am stalled, unfortunately. It has been much harder to buy land in that area than I expected. Land changed hands quite a bit in the area where I sold, but not in the area where I want to buy.

From a paying career standpoint, I may do some land management consulting. That is the direction I am leaning. I am not sure if I will do any more videos. Maybe, but right now that is not a high priority. Video production is a lot harder than it looks and there is no middle ground. If you are going to make money at it, you have to do everything well and be all-in and that requires a lot of time and effort. Maybe someday. I won’t completely disappear. At the very least I will transition the Ask Winke to a new location and keep doing that just as a way to help people. I appreciate your support. I hope you had a great Christmas too. Wow... kinda sounds like he’s potentially hanging it up for good. That’s a bummer. I guess I get it tho. That’s got to be so much work to produce those kinds of shows. Wonder if he burnt himself out too. I would guess to some degree. Maybe you can only kill so many giant deer before you’ve had enough. And where else to go after that. At a certain point they only get so big, except for those couple freaks of nature once in a while I guess.

Yeah, I don't necessarily think that long shots are unethical every time by any means--I actually thought Rogan's shot was plenty ethical because conditions were perfect and the bull was completely relaxed and not at all jumpy--but the one of Bee's that I'm talking about (linked here) was pretty freakin' bad. 40 degree angle downhill, 80 yards, shooting at a bedded deer with the wrong body angle, took 4 shots to connect, and eventually spined the deer. To top it off, he and his buddy were yukking it up about the whole thing like there was nothing wrong or regrettable about it at all. In trying to find the link for you, I re-watched that portion of the video and was equally disgusted as the first time I watched. He seems like a decent enough guy, but that was a one-strike-you're-out situation for me.
(Sorry all for side-tracking us from the OP's question!)

Wow, that was terrible. They essentially put on a clinic on why you SHOULDNT be taking 81 yard shots!

Not to mention laughing about eventually spining it on the 4th shot.
