Outdoor55 - not really hunting but knife sharpening so it's related
Chris Bee - I read some of the gripes, I'll have to go back and watch those. I like his archery content
I watched a lot of those "big name" hunting shows on TV back in the 90's and early 2000's, and they just always felt canned and scripted to me. What I like so much about THP is it seems genuine. So do pretty much all of those on the list. There are episodes in which they don't kill or sometimes don't even see anything. Didn't see that too often on Bill Jordon's Real Tree Outdoors, et al. They ALWAYS killed a monster.
Meat Eater is just well produced, and I like Rinella. He's hunting things I never will, and I enjoy watching it. I also like that he always has the cooking aspect in the show. It has made me much more interested in becoming a better cook of the wild game I kill.
Elk Shape is great for the fitness coaching. I've been incorporating a lot of the archery-specific workouts he posts into my workout routines. Been an athlete all my life, and lots of old injuries are catching up to me. The older I get, the more I need it. I want to be doing this for a long time.
The only one that seems particularly "commercial" to me is Nock On. Dudley is certainly selling product. But his archery content is great, and maybe I'm a sucker, but he seems genuine to me. The only thing of his I own is a Silverback release, and I don't have any fluorescent green on anything. Lol.
