'Fess Up, Who Hunts out of a Prius?

2.95 in North MS in certain areas.

I’m sorry but I’m not one of those guys who hunts out of a car/hybrid My truck gets me to point a to b all day long :p We’ll granted it does suck for gas but that means I got to do some extra finagling to get extra gas money LOL. I’m sure you haven’t look at the ford maverick pick um trux. It’s small like a hybrid and gets about the same gas mileage as one and it can tow and can carry dead critters without worrying about blood in the seats and what not and the price is better than a lot of used hybrids on the marketView attachment 69166
These are cool, but production has had a number of quality issues and supply chain problems. I ordered one early July ‘21 and it was only built last week. My need for a truck arrived long before, so I went another route.

I used to hunt out of a Grand Marquis. A deer would fit in the trunk but preferred using a hitch rack. I have a '16 Kia Sorrento now with a 4 banger and I'm totally sold on that size of vehicle. For weekend trips it's so nice to pull over anywhere and sleep in the back. It's a little snug with gear but if packing efficiently it's fine and saved a ton on hotels and the hassle of tent camping.

Didn't read the entire thread, maybe this was mentioned already about gas mileage, but it's a different way to look at the savings

That's a good point but it only looks at the economics. Back in the 70's we had gas shortages and waiting in line just to get gas. Gas rationing is also a possibility.
Then I don't care about costs if I can't get to the grocery store.

I wish I had a prius... I'm flat sick of paying $5.39 for diesel. My "commuter truck" is killing the wallet. If it wasn't paid for it would already be gone.

Diesel was 5.99 per gal at Hucks in Murry KY last week. My Ram loves to be full pulling my camper.

Currently looking for a PETA and “COEXIST “ sticker for my Subaru. I had a lady throw a fit at work when I told her what my hitch haul was as used for.

I’m looking for a “Police Interceptor” badge to put on mine, right where everyone else puts those stupid little badges.

2 years ago my wife wanted to get a van...... so I bought a KIA carnival for her and took her old car as my daily driver instead of my f150. It's a 2014 Ford escape 2.1L ecoboost. I drive it like I stole it. 85-90mph on highways, it still gets 22-24mpg lol it still only costs about 35-45$ tp fill it up. I've put so many deer in the back of the thing it's kinda ridiculous. This spring I'm going to take the cargo floor board out and hurculiner it as well as the back of the rear seats, it just gets tooooo messy with deer hair and the material just holds stink to long... some of the places I hunt it really helps tp just not be noticed, and no self respecting hunter is gonna roll up to a spot in this thing with pride! Except me of course!

Like the previous person said, get a used kids car seat and a “I love my yorkies” sticker. Nobody will hunt near you!

I’m not a hunter, but for a couple years I was doing contract climbing tree pruning and removals out of a Corolla. A big USAF flight bag full of climbing gear, another flight bag full of rigging gear and ropes, usually 4 chainsaws but sometimes 7, fuel and bar oil, polesaw head and pole pruner head, four 6’ Jameson mid poles, axe, maul, peavey, helmet, spare boots, other PPE, probably some other stuff.
One of my employers called me The Corolla Virus.

What a proper Subaru should look like. Well that and maybe a PETA sticker on the back.
