Question for you guys.....Are there that must difference in Sterling OpLux 8mm vs Canyon Elite 9mm vs Teufelberger Resc Tech 8mm?

I love the figure 8. If someone can give me some way to ditch the safeguard/atc/belay device and climb SRT I am in!

I am not seeing people ascend srt without some form of ascending device. (Other than the jrb method which while great, is not SRT)

no its the Canyon "Camo" Elite. EWO sells it.

"MAXIM® Canyon Elite is the high-end rope for extreme canyoneering tours. It features a dry treated nylon core with a cover of polyester blended with revolutionary materials Technora® .

Canyoneering presents one of the most extreme conditions that a rope can be put through. Ropes that do not absorb water are a lot easier to handle and last longer. To strive for this level of performance, MAXIM offers the higher end Canyon Elite. The Technora® fiber adds an extreme level of abrasion resistance and therefore makes the rope perfect for the most demanding canyoneering. With Canyon Elite there is no limit to your canyoneering experience!

We have found that Canyon Elite feels like Oplux/Resc Tech but is 9mm to be in spec with the MadRock Safeguard and other rappelling devices. It is not as stiff as Canyon C-IV."

With it being compared to Oplux/Resc Tech as far as feel....is 1mm differences in size make that big of a difference when carrying 40ft?

Edit.....I guess I should clarify....I'm using the Canyon Elite and like it. Just trying to justify trying the OpLux.

My Camo Elite sits at home while my other ropes get to go out and play.

The Klemheist eats another tether!
This is atleast the third time this has happened to me.

Luckily I was at ground level practicing setting up my camera arm on the tree...
