Finally done with DIY sticks and platform

Awesome job....that setup looks sweet. Now put it to use and sling some arrows

From the title of your post I thought you were giving up sticks and adopting a civilized climbing method like SRT/RADS. :grinning:
Nice camo paint job.

Well about that... I’ve got the SRT gear, ropes, ascenders and the such just not the time to preset like I would like to. I will use my sticks to try a spot and if it is decent enough, I leave a paracord loop in the tree for when i come back and SRT.

Sticks came in at 1.8 lbs without ropes. Platform is right at 4 lbs. I had an old XOP stand I cut down for the platform.

What’s the dimensions of that platform? I love my predator for most hunts but I’m looking for something just a lil bigger for all day sits

When I leave a line in a tree I leave a loop with the ends tied together with intertwined bowline loops. Bowlines are easy to untie. I can just girth hitch the climbing line to one of the bowlines and pull the loop up and over the crotch and leave the loop in place for next time.

After several months of tinkering and tweaking, I think I finally have my setup dialed in. Shout out to everyone that did the sponge paint camo before me to give me the idea. I think it turned out great.

Sir,

Great work! Was the stand the new XOP Vanish Evolution? Can you explain and take a closeup picture of how you attached the bolt from the platform through the Ibeam? Thanks!

It was an old silver medium I think they called it. Not sure they make them anymore. I just found a thick spot in the post and drilled there. Hopefully you can see in the picture

Ok perfect. I think I'm going to give it a shot. I also have an old XOP that's been sitting here.

Thank you!
