It took me four months to find this deer. I looked for hours on two separate days and wouldn't you know it he was about 80 yards south of where I looked.

What I love about this deer is that he came in on the first time I actually got into a tree with a saddle. I missed him at 10-12 yards. However, I watched him trot off and repositioned my set-up 200 yards away. He came in on a string after laying out some Tinks 69 and Code Blue. He thrashed some bushes for about 20 min and then walked 12 yards away again.

No blood, no hair - He ran 150 yards and then walked casually. I thought I missed him again and it weighed on me hard. Confidence down!!!

I am super happy that I found him - this is a young eight pointer and not huge, but my first deer taken while saddle hunting. It has been seriously bothering me since October. Missing once at 10-12 yards is bad enough. Glad I found him!

I hear you bro. It's a bummer when you have to try and track with little to go on. Glad you found him, and now can look forward to next season with greater confidence in yourself!

Glad you found him. Thats a good looking deer too. Congrats. Not to say you did anything wrong or didnt put the effort in, but thats why its important to never give up on a track. The crazy hidden hell holes that a deer can find to go hide when they are in danger are impressive.

Nice Buck for sure.. Congrats! Doesn't always happen like it should glad you found him.
