I went deer hunting this morning and was covered up with deer before legal then missed a 6 point buck when my arrow hit a limb and deflected between the bucks legs.
A short time later I was covered in squirrels so fried squirrel for breakfast was sounding good to me. I loosed an arrow with a blunt on it and hit the squirrel at ten yards from the tree. The squirrel was down for 30 seconds then got up and hopped across the ground with my arrow in it then climbed 40’ up to a hole in a tree and died. I tried single stick climbing up to it but the tree had a 45 degree bend about 15’ from where the squirrel was and didn’t feel safe climbing beyond it. Bummed out that I could retrieve squirrel and lost my arrow. I hate loosing animals I kill. Single stick climbing sucks too.
