Does anyone have any experience between the Foundry Obsidians vs Foundry Corrugates? I'm specifically looking to use them for early/mid-season while saddle hunting and maybe a little turkey hunting but the latter isn't as important. Although they look very similar, I think there are pros and cons to both of them specifically for saddle hunting. For instance, the obsidian has ripstop material which would be more durable for briars, but the corrugate has front pockets and hip zippers to dump heat.

Any input is appreciated!

Head over to Rokslide. Pretty extensive thread about the pants that may answer your questions.

Thanks for that - didn’t think of looking over there

I have the corrugates and the cataylsts and they both work great for me. The knee pads are a nice feature for saddles IMO.

I have a pair of the Foundry Corrugates. Though I didn't saddle hunt this past season, only getting into that now, they were my "go to" hunting pants for the whole hunting season. They stood up well to dense brush and blackberry cane. The only issue was some of the embroidered logo stitches got snagged/pulled a bit, but that is just cosmetic.

It was a warm moose hunt this year, so the thigh heat dumps were awesome when dogging for miles in the warm weather. At one point I was getting pretty hot busting through the bush, and remembered the heat dumps. The cool air swirling around the cojones was wonderful! :tearsofjoy:

I liked the knee pads....they are pretty light/slim and don't get in the way. Were great when kneeling on hard granite and such. I could see the pads would be useful if you were in a "diaper" saddle, though having bought a JX3 recently, I won't need them for that. Loved the front quad pockets, which I find a bit more handy then the usual side pockets on most pants. The water resistant seat and knees worked well too.

In colder weather I just put on some good merino long johns underneath and was good to go.

I paired the pants with the Argali Kodiak belt, which has a knife sharpening system built into the buckle. That worked well.

I have or had all three. I will tell you the obsidian was my least favorite. I couldn’t find much upside. I do use the corrugate for nearly everything except hunting below freezing and the catalyst foundry get the nod. I literally got rid of all my other pants besides thr corrugate and catalyst foundry. I have two pairs of the corrugate. Saddle hunted, scouted and the whole nine in them. Best pants ever

Not sure but these are $15 at Costco and I like better than all the FL pants. These are light weight and probably not good much past the first part of mid season.
