Howdy all, this was my first year saddle hunting and let me say that I am hooked. I was lucky enough to harvest a nice lil 7pt with my bow and then take nice 8 point that was 17.5" inside on our gun opener. Both bucks were taken on public property and are mountain deer. I am already ready for next season.

Congrats and welcome to the addiction! :tearsofjoy: I find "ready for next year" is a relative term with me as I seem to always mix something new into my system in the off season. I' m surely going through hunting withdrawals right now and am anxious for the 2021 season to start.

Was there a huge learning curve to hunt saddle hunting? How have you hunted before? Did you practice all different types of shots while in the saddle? Asking because I’m seriously thinking about saddle hunting with one stick and rappel or multi stick.

I must be retarded, I am trying to post additional pictures but can't figure out how to make the pics smaller to upload them any suggestions?

Try to screenshot the picture and paste the screenshot or use a snipping tool and snip and paste (that's what I do).

For me it was actually pretty easy. Having spent a lot of time in a Swiss seat I find my Mantis very comfy. Hights and trust in my equipment was also not an issue. I took to the whole concept immediately. I did take out my setup and have 4 different targets around my tree at different angles and distances to practice the shots. it was a easy process.
Since having gone to the saddle side I have already sold off half of my other treestands

Awesome job and great bucks!! Getting ready for next year is half the fun!!
