Scouted a place Saturday that has a very large creek running through it. But it has been so dry that the 2 miles of creek that I walked only had a half dozen small potholes of water in it that have tracks all in them. I also found some pretty good oaks that the deer have been hitting. If it stays dry until I can hunt it (two more weeks) do you think I should key in on the water or on food? Unfortunately there isn't a water hole with an oak right next to it so both at once isn't an option. I'm just really wondering how much deer will actually hit a water hole during the day.

Daytime temperatures where you hunt?
It will probably be in the mid 80's or so
It’s been my experience that deer around here in similar temps have to get up during the day at least once for water.

As long as it's warm I think the water is more attractive.
