I have seen lots of people take the stance that it doesn’t matter what hunters do, we lose to the antis. With the voting in Colorado showing some possibility and Howl For Wildlife crushing states, I was just sent this update. If you are a hunter and don’t participate with Howl, it’s your own fault when things go away. It’s free and takes a few seconds.
Wins in AZ and super liberal WA are big for your heritage.

I get a lot of responses back from the stuff I send. It doesn’t take much time and I do believe it makes a big difference.

Apathy = Loss
Outdoorsman are the most apathetic groups out there. Most hunters don't vote.

The big money hunting groups, whitetail unlimited, ducks unlimited, Nwtf won't get involved with anything political. They say they can't legally but there's ways around that if they wanted to get involved.

So it falls to smaller groups to get things done.

And that’s where a complete gutting needs to take place. Either you support Hunter rights and recognize the massive and ongoing contributions by hunters via Pittman Robertson and all the other financial contributions hunters make or you don’t. First thing besides conservation of the species is the conservation of the groups that have perpetuated the species with their own hard earned dollars and sweat. Those groups would be hunters and trappers.

I agree wholeheartedly. I've never understood why bow hunters won't even join their states bow hunting organizations. Here in Michigan we have one of the best state organizations, Michigan Bow Hunters Assn., In a state with hundreds of thousands of bow hunters only a very small percentage of them will actually step up to support MBH. It's pretty disgusting the lack of support MBH gets.

And unfortunately a lot of it is left to the trappers. And we're the smallest group out there. We've been the most attacked group so we've got a lot of practice defending ourselves. Unfortunately hunters and trappers aren't joiners so it's a bit like herding cats sometimes to get people together.

There is some truth to this. Because of the non profit title they took, they are held to a certain standard. Coloradans for Responsible Wildlife Management took a different line and is allowed to be in the political space. They go to court, lobby and voice public opinions. It’s kind of convoluted but paints a clear picture of DU, REMF, QU and others. The limitations are crazy.

The thing is , they can create a political action arm. The NRA is a great example of this leading aside the stuff that went on with the previous leadership there. They have the NRA-ILA which is their lobbying arm.

We hire Sportsman's Alliance for our lobbying efforts here in Ohio.

My understanding from what Lee said during his interview with Glenn Beck was this wasn't about land that would be used for hunting.

Yeah. The government sells the land. This, this proposal was estimated to generate about $10 billion over the next 10 years. It would sell the land, and if not all of it, it's, in fact it's a tiny, tiny fraction. Just a, yeah, yeah. A fraction of 1% of federal land. And it can't be in a national recreation area, national park. Right, right. This area, monument, anything like that. It's just garden variety land that's in, or immediately outside municipal boundaries. A place where people already live, a place where it, it's accessible to utility connections and things like that. Yeah. Where people could build houses and it'd make a big difference.

Lawyer turned politician, that’s all I need. Parties don’t matter in cell block freak.

This is one response I got back. The slap in the face is saying adding the private entities can manage public land. He isn’t going to like me by the time this is done.
