For the hog guys

I have met Jerry a couple of times and have seen the skull from that hog. I don’t know Jerry well at all, but I know he is as dedicated a hunter as there is. Heck of a bear hunter as well.

Here are 4 of the 5 hogs I shot last season! They run rampant here in Fl

As a guy from Pennsylvania I never knew they were that smart. Sounds as if its like hunting a mature buck. Also, that terrain looks miserable.

They get big! I've never been able to weigh any of the really big ones I shot because one man can't possibly get them back to the boat. The one above was big enough I couldn't drag it at all. Took a 40 grain. 22wmr solid and wadded up inside of 50 yards.
I had to drag a 290# 1/4 mile through the woods, back to the boat by myself once and load him up on the dock when I got home. I didn’t have a game cart with me and I didn’t want to field dress him in the dark. It took like 2 hours and I was exhausted! Stupid acts like are why I am 39 going on 60 lol

I have shot a few on public land in the mountains that were over 300 pounds. They come out on my back in pieces so there is no putting them on a scale. It was all I could do to roll them up right for a picture, there was no dragging them anywhere.

In case any of y’all decide y’all actually want a fairly accurate way to measure pigs when y’all are deep in the woods…
Used that formula last year on a few pigs I could actually put on a scale and it was pretty accurate. First hog the formula got me 190 pounds and it was 185. Second one I believe was exactly right at 190 both on scale and tapeD2F09FF8-2927-46A8-9A7E-DF0F2B4BE5A9.jpeg47C0F02D-FB3C-4D6C-80FD-322AD5AD3EBF.jpeg
