Found a video of Ropeman Failure (unclear if it is a ropeman 1 or 2)

Any of y’all ever tried a Gibbs or other rope grab type ascender for your LB?
Smooth rounder ridges on the cam.

After they found out they could not get the line up, they sold all their SRT equipment. I still don't understand that one. It is no more difficult than throwing a football. If you can't do it, then sticks are fine.

Around here anyway, the ease of using a throwline depends on how thick the understory is. Some properties it's fine, others it's a major PITA. Where I've hunted in recent years I've only used it a few times. Rest of the time it's single stick for that hunt, then preset it for the next time.

I have an idea on how to help mitigate the throwline in thick brush problem but need to do some experimentimg first.

I set a bunch of paracord loops in off season scouting. I almost never use a throwline while hunting unless I am truly coming into a spot I have not scouted before, and then I only do it for afternoon sits where I know I can have enough time to get a throwball in tree. If I can't do that, then I fall back to sticks.

Same here, I'm not messing around with a throwball in the dark. Most of my area is completely covered thick with Palmettos. One miss and the line gets all tangled in that mess. Half the deer in the forest know you're there, you can't do anything quiet in that stuff.

I get off work at 11 or 12 make a lot of afternoon hunts, the one benefit of getting up at 0200 everyday :D. They do a lot of select cutting on that property and I've had some success hunting the edge between the logged and unlogged areas. That's the interest in wanting to do more throwline stuff, for hunting trees on the logged side that are difficult or not possible with a stick
