How long will pork fat last when frozen? I froze some great fat off a pork butt over the winter and wonder if it's still good to cut into snack sticks.

Thanks.

I would say yes. I used some last year that had been in my freezer since the previous year. I feel like when packaged right, pork fat will last a long time.

I bought some last year. Used part of it and used the rest about 3-5 months latter kept in my freezer rolled up in the brown paper bag I got it in and it was fine. Im guessing you packaged it better then that so you are good!

I vacuum sealed it and it was fine. 3# went into 7# of ground venison with a teriyaki cure. Half went to regular and added 1# of high temp cheddar to the other. Took close to 8 hours in the oven and after 15 minutes in the freezer, 15 minutes in the fridge, were cut into sticks.

I'm sure it's a combination of learning from last years mistakes, better equipment and better cure but these things are delicious.
