Anyone using the garmin rhino 2 way radios? I have been thinking about buying one, but I have a small garmin dakota I think and it takes forever to acquire the satellites in the woods. It works well in the wide open when I already know where I am at lol.

I’ve used then when I was working with the prison on the K-9 team. They had great reception anywhere we took them. We tracked folks for the sheriffs, pd, and game fish and never had a single issue. If you key up to talk it would update your coordinates on your partners radio if you have it enabled to do so. Out in the swamps along the gulf where the canopy is super thick and no cell service what so ever, they talked and tracked flawlessly. We used Garmin map cards in them with Birdseye view. That was a few years ago so I’m sure the newer ones would have to be as good if not better.

Thanks for the input.
