Gen 3 One Sticks....

I just realized they will actually sell you a 4 pack now. 400 bucks. Is everyone still happy with theirs? I’m sorely tempted.
You may want to read this thread. Two of the posters sold their sticks and one is concerned about how they grip the tree. I tried them and I did not have a good experience.

Three sticks been sitting in my garage for a month now, the tree grip has me a little concerned honestly, but others have relayed better experiences. In the hand I really like em, interested to get some reps in this spring / summer and find out.

I've used them quite a lot this off-season putting tacks up trees for next season suits and they've been perfect so far. No complaints. The weight and snag factor is next level. I did 12 miles the other day walking and never felt the weight adding up with them strapped to my backpack and they never got snagged either

Sorry I must have misunderstood your post 345.

I'm going around the post once and pulling (gives 2X advantage like a cam buckle) before finishing on the cleat doohickey.

You could do a trucker's hitch by putting a little prusik in a good spot and sliding where it needs to be....once around the post, back to the prusik loop, through it, and back to cleat doohickey to finish.

Or switch them out to daisy chains (i'm sure you can get it to work) and then trucker's hitch is even easier.

I used them all the last part of last season. So far I’m loving them and may cease
my one sticking because of them. They finally got them rockin’and rollin and beleive me I was not a Mantis fan at all! So light you almost can’t not have them. Spend the time to silence them though they are very “tinny” out of the box.

How did you silence them and to what extent? I’ve only stealth stripped the tubes so far, but considered more.

I’m still rocking the Gen 1’s!!!! Haven’t found a better stick. They do require Stealth strip and some paracord wrap. Also I switched to 7/64 daisy chain.

I went around the tube, but this leaves the metal ring of the cleat thing exposed. To fix that, I bought a roll of stealth strips and cut a proper sized piece to center that ring and tuck under the edges of the cleat thing. I then took a longer piece off the roll, cut that in half length wise, and did a full wrap above and below the cleat thing but overlapping the first bit of strip but there. Without this last step, the piece of stealth strip was peeling back since it was not able to overlap itself because it stopped on each side at the cleat thing.

The Latitude has way more coverage area for me. I guess I’m just old and need the extra support, lol

mesh design holds aspercreme better.....

They look like great sticks. I’m still not a fan of the steps though. The edges come up too high. They dig into my feet.
